Chapter 36: Claws and Blood

"Dad..." I trailed crying.

"Kyra, ikaw nga." Naka ngiting sambit nito at hinaplos ang buhok ko mula sa pagitan ng riles na nagsisilbing pagitan naming dalawa.

"You grew up to be a beautiful lady." He smiled in amazement just as I continue crying.

"You're alive. I can't believe you're alive dad. I've missed you so much daddy."

"Shhhh. Dont cry, baby." He soothes just like how he tries to make me stop from crying when I was still a little girl.

"Patawaran mo ako anak. Kasalanan ko lahat ng ito. Wala ka sana sa lugar na ito kung hindi dahil sa akin." Paghingi niya ng tawad.

"Dad, don't blame yourself. This people are cruel and insane. They're ambitious." Sambit ko na bumaling sa ppa ni Matteo na permeng nakasandal sa pader.

"How about your mother? Kamusta siya?"

"She's very well dad and she's waiting for you so stay alive. Okay?"

"I will, Kyra. And Im sorry." He apologized again.

"This is so touching. As much as I wanted to watch a melodrama but your time is up." Matteo's father erupted and lifted me up away from my father.

"Don't touch my daughter, Dante!!" My father warned. So this man's name is Dante.

Instead of letting me go, Dante grabbed a handful of my hair and I yelp from surprise and from the pain it's causing to my scalp.

"Ako ang dahilan ng lahat ng ito hindi ba? Kung ganun ako nalang ang saktan mo. Wag ang anak ko. She's innocent to all of this." My father tried negotiating but Dante chuckled behind me.

"But I have a lot of plan for your daughter and besides I want you to suffer." Hinila ako ni Dante palabas sa basement kahit na pumapalag ako.

"Hindi pa ba sapat ang labing-isang taon?!" My father roared and banged his fist against the bars. My fathered growled showing his sharf fangs and tried bending the bars but failed.

"Come back here, Dante!!"

"I'm going to kill you!"

"Kyra!!"

Soon, my father's screams were muted when Ron closed the door of the basement.

Nilabas ko ang mga pangil ko at buong lakas na kinagat ang braso ni Dante na nakapalibot sa leeg ko. Napasigaw siya at agad na binitiwan ako. Kinuha ko ang pagkakataon na ito upang makatakbo palabas. I never dared looking back because I know they'd been running after me. Kapag nakatakas ako, hihingi agad ako ng tulong kay Hunter para mailigtas ang papa ko.

"Bumalik ka dito!!" Sigaw ni Brandon mula sa likuran ko at mas lalo ko pang binilisan ang pagtakbo. Bumaba ako sa hagdan at dahil sa masyado akong mabilis ay nawala ang balanse ko at nagpa gulong-gulong ako sa hagdan. Nakadapa ako at akmang tatayo na sana ng may isang pares ng mga paa ang nakatayo sa harap ko.

I looked up to see it was Matteo with a hint of anger in his eyes.

"Trying to scape?" He cocked his head to the side and kicked my stomach. I clutch my stomach and cough.

Akmang itatayo ako ni Brandon pero pinigilan siya ni Matteo.

"I got this. Go back to the borders and continue your patrols." Utos ni Matteo sa kanya. Umalis naman si Brandon pagkatapos ni akong ismiran ng nakakaloko.

"Get up." Malumanay na utos ni Matteo nang kaming dalawa nalang ang natira pero hindi ako kumilos at tinitigan lang siya ng masama.

"I said get up!!" He screamed and grabbed my hair hoisting me up and pushed me to walk upstairs. Tears were streaming down my face just as we entered a room.
