"Ky, dear. Birthday mo na next week. What do want? It's your debut." Malambing na tanong sakin ni mama habang kumakain kami ng breakfast.

Napatigil ako sa pagnguya at napaisip. Next week na pala ang kaarawan ko hindi ko man lang naalala.

"Please mom, I don't want a party." I plead. I just want something simple. A party is too much.

"Don't worry anak. Ayoko ko rin naman ng mga party na yan. Its time consuming."

I smiled at my mom. She knows me really well and the fact that we both like the same thing make me not wonder if she's really my mother. Ha! Just kidding. Of course she's my mom. I would never doubt that.

"How about a simple dinner with my friends? Magaling ka namang magluto ma." I suggested. I know she will agree. She always will.

"Good idea! And bring your boyfriend too. I want to meet him."

Nabilaukan ako sa narinig ko at agad na uminom ng isang basong tubig. Tiningnan ko si mama ng mabuti kung nagbibiro lang ba siya. Boyfriend daw eh wala naman akong boyfriend.

Nagets naman agad ni mama ang gusto kong ipahiwatig.

"Don't act so innocent Ky. The boy who took you home yesterday, thats your boyfriend right? And don't deny it, I saw you get out from his car. Your my daughter, I know when you're in love."

"Are you serious mom?! Hindi ko po siya boyfriend noh!" Pagdi-deny ko. Akala siguro niya boyfriend ko si Aspen. Siya kasi ang naghatid sakin kahapon galing sa bahay ni Hunter.

"Really? Then who's the boy you like? Sigurado kasi akong may nagugustuhan ka ngayon. Mother's instinct." Natatawang sambit ni mama. Mukhang natutuwa pa siyang asarin ako.

"Si mama talaga. Ma's excited ka pa sakin. Wala po akong boyfriend. Period. I'm telling the truth. Cross my heart." I said smiling and did the ritual. You know, I literally draw an X on my chest using my finger then raised my hands as a promise. I always do that when I'm a kid to convince my parents. Something I do to win the argument.

"But you're certainly in love. That's for sure because I trust my instinct."

"Okay mom. Okay. Ikaw na ang panalo."

Wait. Did I just admit that I'm in love? With who?

Then a big letter H appeared in my thoughts.

Ha! No way! I'm not in love with him, am I?

After naming mag breakfast ni mama, nagpaalam na ako dahil malilate na ako sa first subject ko. I took my bag and checked our project. Mahirap na baka makalimutan ko pa.

"Bye ma! Love you!" Sigaw ko galing sa front door at saka lumabas na para umpisahan ang lakaran! Morning exercise din to.

Habang naglalakad, napaisip ako kung sino ang ii-invite ko. Friends daw eh si Anika at Gab lang naman ang pinaka malapit sakin. Bahala na. Baka pati sina Jake at Aspen na rin, tutal feeling close naman yung mga yun. Sige na nga! Isali na rin natin si Hunter.

After 10 minutes nakarating na ako sa room. As usual, Anika arrived first. She's an early bird.

"Bestyy!!!!!" Anika shouted but not in a usual way she used to call me. Naka 'beast mode' yata siya ngayon.

"Good morning" I greet ignoring the fact that she called me besty. I wouldn't like to make her more angry.

"I hate you. I hate you. I hate you." She said repeatedly and pouted.
