Chapter 42

Ruby's P.O.V:

We decided the I would be best off in the camper but both Norman and Kenzie wouldn't leave my side so Jensen drove with Andrew in Normans car and Melissa drove the camper. We got me as comfortable as I could get before we took off. Norman held my hand in his on one side while Kenzie took my other and I wasn't afraid to squeeze when a contraction sneaked up on me.

'You are doing so well Honey.' Kenzie said reassuring me. I shook my head.

'No, I can't so this, I can't make it stop.' I said looking to Norman then Kenzie.

'Babe, listen there is no way to stop this, but you can do this, I know you can, because you are brave, strong and beautiful and soon you will have given me a beautiful baby, I know this is hard on you, I can't even imagine but you can do this, you are the strong brave one.' Norman reassured me as he rubbed my hand with his thumb before kissing my hand. I nodded

'I can do this.'

'Yeah you can, you are Ruby Hallows, nothing beats you right?' Kenzie said I looked at her and let out a small laugh.

'Right, and soon we will have a beautiful baby.' I said looking back to Norman

'We will.' he smiled.

'Why don't you try and rest while you can.' Kenzie suggested I nodded and lay my head down closing my eyes hoping some sleep would take over.

Kenzie's P.O.V:

Ruby had been asleep a good hour and we were a little under half way there. I just hoped we got there before this baby really started to come because sure I could deliver the baby, but what if there was a complication, I had no training on how to deal with it. I mean yeah I have read all them books but it's not the same reading about it as to do it. But if it came down to it, I would have to do my best.

'You okay?' I asked looking to Norman who was lying next to Ruby but very much awake. He looked up

'Yeah I’m fine, I’m just worried.'

'She will be fine, we will all work together to ensure her and the baby be safe.' he nodded.

'Least she is getting some rest.'

'Yeah, I just I am not sure if it's normal, I mean she hasn't had a contraction in over an hour.'

'Is it possible she has but to exhausted to feel them?' he asked I shrugged my shoulders

'I have no idea. Check her pulse for me.' he sat up and checked her pulse.

'Noramal, her breathing is steady.' I nodded, I didn't want to voice my concern that maybe there was something wrong with the baby, but I had to.
