I opened the journal, and read the pages as best as I could.

"My life is twisted, and fate has been unkind. Where do I begin? My name is Luna *smudge* and I have a mission to complete. This all started what seems like a lifetime ago.

My mother told me of my ancestor, *smudge*, who was adoptive family of *smudge*. After her death, my ancestor was taken in by a fairy, who promised to keep her safe. After many moons, her lineage moved to the Tu'La region, in order to escape the Shadow Lord. But the Tu'La King is just as bad. The only reason that we tolerate his rule is because he will protect us from the inferno the Shadow Lord has created."

I flipped the pages, following the story as best as I could.

"Unfortunately, this was all a lie. *The handwriting here is shaky* That monster killed my parents, all because of a money dispute...... And he left me alive to hold this pain. I can't go on like this, but I can't die just yet. My mother had also told stories of a brave knight by the name of *smudge* who was sent to another world. After some research, I have realized that there are many steps to reaching this place. A *smudge* is needed. Thankfully, this has been passed down ever since *smudge*. My research has also uncovered the location of the portal. I am ready to undertake this task. I can only hope that *smudge* can help restore the world........

"The journey to the Ru'aun region will be difficult. But I must keep going, in order to be able to rid the world of it's chaos. I will have to find a way there on my own. I have no family left. May Lady Irene be at my side........."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I have made a horrible mistake. I managed to hitch a ride with a man heading over to the Ru'aun region. He asked me of my name. I told him my name, and he recognized my lineage. He asked me of my middle name, and I replied that it has been passed down since my ancestor *smudge*. It was a way to honor the knight my mother had told me about. He seemed interested, and kept asking about my ancestors. Eventually, he attacked me with a knife. It left a scar over my left eye. I ran away as fast as I could.
I now realize that I can't trust anyone. As long as I'm alive, I can't trust anyone with this task. I can't tell anyone who I am, or where I'm from. I can't tell them why I am going to the Ru'aun region.
I fear that I won't be able to accomplish the mission at hand. I fear that someone will find this, and will find me without a beating heart.
Should anyone ever find this, and find that I have taken my last breath, I ask of you to take the *smudge* at my side, and take it to the portal located in the ruins of *smudge*. I hope that you can open the realm barrier. I can't trust anyone while I'm alive, but I have no choice once I'm gone. I can only hope that whoever finds this knows what to do."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"The forest where the ruins of *smudge* lie is close. I have to move quickly. The Shadow Knights might suspect something of me. I have to move quick, or else I'll fail. I can't allow that to happen...."

The journal's pages were blank after that entry. Many of the words were missing, but I couldn't help but feel as if I should know the missing pieces. And I couldn't help but worry about the journal's owner. I decided to look for them. I walked along the brook, against the current in hopes of finding the journal's owner.

A few minutes away from Lucinda's house, I spotted something in the water. It was larger that the journal, and looked.........human.

I fished it out of the water. It was a young girl, with dark brown hair that almost seemed black. She wore a purple long-sleeved shirt, a pair of blue shorts, and dark purple boots with lilac socks peeking out from above them. A black sweater that was too big for her was wrapped around her. I noticed a scar over her left eye, and a mark on her right hand that was shaped like the crescent moon. She held something in her left, but I couldn't see it. She was barely breathing, and there were black bags around her eyes.

I carefully picked her up. She was no bigger than a 10 year old, and I assumed that she was around that age. I walked to Lucinda's house, the moonlight guiding me there..........

A/N So why am I updating today? Well, I have an assignment that I want to work on tomorrow, so I am updating today. Besides, I was really excited about this chapter. I got the inspiration from the journals from Gravity Falls (yes I'm still obsessing over it). FYI, the Q and A session is still open, because I only have two questions as of now. So leave your questions in the comments below and I'll see you next chapter. Bye /)^3^(\
