When I Chase (When #1)

Chapter Twenty-Three

Pagkalabas ng banyo ay nilamig agad ako dahil sa aircon. Katulad ng kanina ay tanging dim lights lang ang nagbibigay liwanag sa kwarto.

Naktita ko agad si Grant na nasa kama na. His upper body was slightly elevated at nakatingin na rin siya sa akin.  He's wearing a white shirt but I couldn't tell for the bottom because he's tucked under the sheets.

The speed of my beating heart increases as I walked towards the couch and placed my bag of toiletries and towel beside my travel bag. Mabagal ang bawat kilos ko, pati ang paglakad papalapit sa kama ay mabagal din.

Halos hindi na ako humihinga nang inabot ko ang bed sheet at hinawi para makahiga ako sa tabi niya. Ramdam ko ang pagsunod ng mga mata ni Grant sa akin. I couldn't help but feel conscious. 

I made myself comfortable, careful not to move away from my side. The bed was already big for the two of us. Hindi magkakadikit ang balat namin dahil sa malaking puwang na nasa pagitan naming dalawa. 

I closed my eyes and breathed out to relax myself. I heard a distressed sigh from him.

"You're too far." his voice was soft and quiet, but his words still rang in my ears.

My eyes flashed open. An arm placed on my stomach and gripped on my waist before I could turn my head to look at him. He pulled me to his side and crashed my back against his body. I was completely taken aback from his bold move. 

Grant was spooning me from behind and I don't know how to react.I couldn't find my voice. I couldn't move. All I know right now is how my heart is beating like crazy, my imaginary wings were free and deliriously moving.

His hand was splayed across my stomach and his skin felt warm against mine.H is breath fanned the back of my neck and I was still struggling to make myself breathe. 

"Goodnight, Fallon Renee..." he whispered near my ear and hugged me tighter from behind. I bit my lip as butterflies swirled inside my stomach.

It feels right. This feels so right.

Kinabukasan ay puro asar ang inabot ko sa mga kaibigan ko. Hindi ko nagawang maasar sa kanila dahil naging maganda at mahimbing ang pagtulog ko. Grant wasn't beside me when I woke up but it didn't diminish my good mood.

Bumalik si Grant sa room namin nang nakabihis na para ngayong araw. Nang matapos na maligo at magbihis ang mga kaibigan ko ay bumaba kami sa second floor para makakain na ng breakfast buffet. It's my favorite meal time whenever I'm staying in a hotel. Breakfast meals are yummy.

Pagkatapos ng breakfast ay naglibot kami ng Calle Crisologo. We did all the tourist things, from taking pictures and eating different kinds of food. Bumalik kami ng hotel before lunch para kunin na ang mga gamit at mag check out. 

We ate in Vigan and drove to Pagudpud. Dumaan muna kami sa Bangui Windmills. It was nearly sunset when we reached it. It was breathtaking to look at.

Hindi rin kami nagtagal doon at dumiretso na sa huling destination namin para sa trip na ito. Ang sikat na beach resort dahil sa mahabang zipline nito. It was everyone's decision to end and start the year by the beach.

My friends and I checked in one double deluxe room like the last time. Si Grant ay kumuha rin ng kanya. I tried to convince him not to but he insisted. 

Bago mag dinner ay naglibot-libot muna kami sa beach. Wala naman kasing masyadong choices sa beach activities dahil mag ga-gabi na. Maraming tao sa resort. Siguro ay dahil sa new year na mamaya kaya nandito sila para magcelebrate katulad namin.

Past nine nang bumaba kami sa poolside para mag chill at mag swimming. Ten o'clock nagsimula ang concert malapit sa beach. Nag-aya sila na pumunta doon at lahat naman ay pumayag sa plano.
