Chapter Thirty-Six-and-a-Half

She heard screams in the middle of the night. She heard stomping and stuff falling and loud screams. When she reached up to Zara's room, there was her daughter, still in her clothes from the night before, yelling at the stop of her lungs. Crying. Yelling. Shouting. Throwing everything. Smashing everything. 


"Zara, honey," She wrapped her arms around Zara, trying to calm her down. Zara stopped throwing things around the room. Instead she shouted and cried in her mom's shoulders. Her mom soothed her and rubbed her back. "It's alright, sweetie," She said as she continued to soothe her. She laid her down on the bed. 


Zara's eyes were heavy, but she refused to sleep. When she slept, she imagined who the woman was, and what Zayn was doing with her. She shoved her head in the mattress and cried until there were no more tears left.
