"Maine, you think magugustuhan ako ng family mo?"
Maine chuckled at her boyfriend who looks frustrated upon meeting her family. Although Alden already met all of them, he still felt unease.
"Ano ka ba para kang timang dyan! Botong-boto sayo si Ate Nikki lalo na si Kuya John. Close na din naman kayo ni Dean. At least may kakampi ka na if ever no."
"How about Nico and Coleen? Yung tatay at nanay mo? Ano ba favorite nila ng mabili ko na dito." Alden said as they roamed through the mall.
"Wag ka ngang OA dyan. They'll love you for sure so don't panic. Pero kung gusto mong mamulubi ngayon para may maibigay sa kanila, buy Coleen her favorite Mac lipstick, si Nico naman sapatos. Kay Nanay uhmm, maybe her favorite cake will do. Don't bother getting anything for Tatay, you can't bribe him."
"Tinatakot mo ko lalo nyan sa Tatay mo e."
"Wag ka na kasi mag-abala. They'll love you even though you don't bribe them. Ikaw pa! Nobody resist Alden Richards."
"Ooh, kaya pala you can't resist me huh?" Alden teased.
"Faulkerson, remember that in every rule, there's always an exception. And that's me."
"If you say so," Alden thought maybe they should at least get Nanay Dub's favorite cake right? "Love, let's get your Mom her favorite cake. May madala man lang ako."
"Okay."
They went inside the mall to buy Nanay Dub's cake. They immediately went back to the car pagtapos nilang bumili and Alden drive their way to Bulacan.
It was 6pm when they arrived at Maine's place. Alden felt uneasy again so Maine held his hand.
"Magustuhan ka man nila o hindi, di mababago nun yung pagmamahal ko sayo." Alden smiled sheepishly. "Kilig ka na naman? Tara na nga!"
They walked hand in hand and entered Maine's home. Naabutan nilang nanunuod ang pamilya nya ng movie sa sala.
"Surprise! Missed me?" Everyone looked at her and happily welcomed them. "Dadating pala kayo di ka nagsabi! Pasok pasok." Pinapasok sila ni Nanay Dub.
"Ah, hello po." Lumapit si Alden sa magulang ni Maine at nagmano.
"Kaawaan kayo ng Diyos." Tatay Dub said. "Ikaw Menggay di mo sinabing uuwi ka at kasama mo pa itong si Alden, edi sana nakapaghanda kami."
"Edi hindi na surprise yon! Nay may dala kaming favorite cake mo. Si Alden bumili nyan!" Alden looked at his girlfriend, she was showing him off to her parents. He couldn't help but smile.
"Naku nag-abala ka pa Alden. Kumain na ba kayo? Buti nalang madaming niluto si Nikki. Dean sabihin mo nga magsandok na't kakain na tayo."
When the table was prepared, umupo na silang lahat. Maine's family was complete and Alden couldn't help but get nervous. Maine held his hand under the table. "Loosen up. My family won't eat you."
Nico lead the prayer and they started eating. They talked and Alden casually joins with them. He suddenly felt at ease, it wasn't that hard as he imagined. Her whole family was welcoming. Sometimes Maine's father would joke and he plays along.
After the dinner, they went back to the living room and talk some more. They're all playing with the little angel, Matteo. They thought him to call Alden, "Tito Ninong" because he calls Maine Tita Ninang. Alden played with Matti and Maine makes faces infront of her nephew.
"Mama.. Papa." The two of them looked at Matti and was shocked with what he called them. Eventually, they let out a laugh.
"Naku Nikki inagawan na nila tayo ng bibi. Matti ayaw mo na ba samin ni Mommy mo?" John playfully asked Matti.
"Sasabayan pa yata ko magpakasal nitong si Menggay ha? Oy ayaw ko ng sukob ha! Alden mag-intay ka ng 3 years."
"Antayin mo munang pumayag si Tatay bago yang kasal kasal na yan. Diba 'tay?" They all looked at Tatay Dub who is smiling while he look at Maine and Alden busy with Matti.
"Bakit hindi? Nasa tamang gulang naman na sila. Alam na nila ang tama at mali. At may tiwala ako kay Richard na hindi niya sasaktan ang anak ko."
Alden, who is a bit taken aback with Tatay Dub's words, answered with all sincerity.
"Mamahalin ko po si Maine, gaya ng pagmamahal nyo sa kanya."
