Over the next two days, Mike Worked back to back only having breaks while Cheryl was at work. This caused Cheryl to grow lonely and even more irritable. Luckily she didn't let it get to her when it came to work because she knew how much this play means to Tyler so she planned to give it her all. But with her anger towards her husband, she was able to add that to her Character's emotions, which made it seem even more real. But sadly she was even more vulnerable.
Cheryl's P.O.V
So it was the day before our first show and everyone was just running through their lines and acting out scenes just to make sure they got them. Tyler then called a complete run through of the play to see where work was needed. "Ok everyone let's do another full run through" He looked so worried because we were doing this show on such short notice and so little rehearsal. So I walked over to him and touched his shoulder. "What now?, Oh hey Cheryl, I'm.." before he could say anything else I told him "Calm down and breathe it's gonna be ok. You've got god on your side. It's all gonna come together I know it is. You've got good people working on this play. And we're gonna make sure this works for you." He then hugs me and says "You are right Cheryl, he didn't bring me this far to fail. You always know just what to say to make me feel better. And just to correct you I have great people doing this play for me." Once he pulled away from the hug he smiled at me. "You know that I'm always here no matter what Tyler." I say. "I know, now let's finish this run through." He tells me. "You got it" I say giving him a thumbs up. Once we got over to everybody else tyler then said "Ok everyone, first off I really want to thank you for doing this for me on such short notice. This really means a lot to me. Next thing is I want to run through the full play like you are performing live and I'm gonna sit in the audience and take notes on what needs work. Then we can take it from there. Ok got it?" An array of "got it"s & "yes"s followed. I then realized that, that meant I was actually going to have to kiss tony, this go around. Now I don't have nothing against him and actually he is very attractive to me. That is what scares me, the fact that I am actually attracted to him, with the fact that I have only kissed Mike for the past 3 years. But hopefully I can keep it together, for Tyler. Luckily I have time anyway, because I don't go on until about 30 minutes into the play. So I go to my dressing room to get into chartacter. When I got there I seen I had a missed call. I was really hoping it was Mike, but it wasn't it was My friend Donna. I figured I'll just call her back later, but she called me again, so I answered.
"Hello?" I say "Hey Peps, what's been going on? I haven't talked to you lately." She asked. "Nothing, I actually just got a part in a new play with Tyler." I tell her. "Ohhh what's it about?" "Now you know I can't tell you that Donna!" "Well at least can you tell me if any fine men are working with you on it" "Really Donna?" "Yeah girl I need some info." "Well if you must ask there is one." "Oooww, does he have any relation to your character?" "Uhh, yeah I actually have to kiss him in the play and there is a pretend sex scene, where we are in the position like we about to have sex." "WHAT!!! Does Mike know?" "No I haven't had the chance to talk to him, he has been working nonstop and is only off when I'm at rehearsal." "First off you need to tell him, because he is coming to opening night, right?" "Yeah he is supposed to be coming, but I haven't had the chance and he doesn't even call me and doesn't answer when I call him." "WAIT! WHAT! Cheryl do you know what you just said to me?" "Yeah why?" "Look I know you not dumb, but what you just said to me sounds like Mike could be stepping out." "WHAT?! Girl no he's not!" "Cheryl you're not dumb and you're not soft either. Girl we from Brooklyn. And Look I'm not saying he is cheating but you need to make sure." "No I'm not dumb and I guess your right, but I gotta go. I'll call you when I leave rehearsal." I say hanging up the phone trying to digest what was just brought to my attention.
Wow I really never taught about that possibility. I mean I helped Mike get to where he is. I introduced him to his boss, who was a friend of the family. Which got him into the business and helped him climb up the business latter. So it was because of me that he is now CEO of the company. He wouldn't do me wrong. I never did him wrong. Dinner was always on the table with he got home. I was always ready for him when he wanted some. And to top it all off the home was always clean. But I should at least check.
All those thoughts were racing though my head while I was trying to prepare myself to go on. Luckily I was playing someone who was hurt in the beginning of then play anyway, so I could work it. So I went out there to play my part.
Man I think I just gave that performance my all. Because I still have tears coming down my face. I laugh to my self as I walk to my dressing room to get out of the fat suit and get ready for the second half. Now I had to mentally prepare myself to kiss tony. Ok. I'm good, I'm a actress I can do it. Then I hear a knock on my door. "Who is it?" I ask. "It's Tyler" he said. Why would he be back here? Aren't they still running through the full play? "Ok give me a moment." I finished fixing my next outfit and " Ok Now you can come in." In came Tyler, and he looked worried. "You ok Tyler?" I asked. "Yeah I'm fine Cheryl." He said. "Then why do you look so worried?" I asked. "Cheryl is there something you wanna tell me about? Because you know I'm here for you." I says causing me to look surprised. "What do you mean Tyler?" "Now you know that performance was perfect and I'm not complaining but you looked like something was really bothering you." He states.
I look up at him. "Tyler how do you always know?" I ask. "So it is something wrong? What is it?" He continues to try to find out what is going on. "Look Tyler I was just really into my character, ok? That's all" I said with my back turned to him, fixing my things. I kind of wanting to tell, but I didn't want to worry him even more. "No you Look Cheryl, I know you send your self into your character, but this was different. I could tell you where away a bit more. Now just let me be there for you, like your there for me." He says turning me towards him. I just couldn't take it anymore so I caved. "Ok Tyler, your right, before I came out to do my part, it was brought to my attention, that it is a chance that my Mike in real life, could be really cheating on me." I said with tears start forming. "Oh Cheryl, I'm so sorry" he said pulling me in or a hug. "If you don't wanna do the play anymore I will completely understand." That's when I pulled away from him and said "No I'm doing this for you, and I'm gonna play my part" Then I wiped my face, "Now lets go finish this play" I say pulling him out of my dressing room.
