Chapter 3

~Rapunzel P.O.V.~

I pulled my hair and threw it into the window to help mother get inside the tower. It seems to be the easiest way for her to get up here. Merida helped me in pulling my hair back and get mom inside.

"Hi," Merida and I sighed after we pulled my 'awesome' golden hair. It's really hard pulling mom into the window.

"Welcome home, mother."

"Oh, girls. How'd you both manage to do that every single day without fail? It looks absolutely exhausting darlings."

I looked at Merida and she gestured her hand like a talking mouth and formed words in her lips saying 'blah blah blah'.

"Oh, it's nothing mother, really." I looked back at mother.

"And I didn't know why you took so long." Mother laughed and my eyebrows just met making me look confused. "Oh darling, I'm just teasing," Mom added.

I chuckled in a weird way and Merida just glared at mother. She slowly came close to me as if she wants to whisper something.

"I hate it when she does that!" She whispered  to me heatedly.

"Merida, calm down. I'll try to convince her to take us to those lights." I whispered back.

"Well, good luck with that, aye?" She sat into a chair across the closet. I ignored her and then started to talk to mother.

"Uhmm, mother tomorrow is a-"

"Rapunzel, mother's feeling a little run down. Could you sing for me dear? Then we'll talk." Ugh! Mom will you first listen to me?? I sighed.

"Oh! Of course mother!"

~Merida P.O.V.~

Mom asked Rapunzel to sing that healing incantation she taught her while we were still young. I was like 6 and she was 4. I can't remember.

Rapunzel started to sing the incantation but this time, she sang it in full speed causing mother to slightly jump from her seat and her body became young again. A body age nearly in 30-40's. A double-crosser. People die but this evil BASTARD diesn't want to agree with death.

"Rapunzel!" Mom reacted to Rapunzel's quick melody. And then my wee sister just got jumpy and...

"So mother, earlier I was saying tomorrow is a pretty big day and you didn't really respond so I'm just gonna tell you it's my BIRTHDAY! TADA!!"

Gosh! That scream made me deaf. She's really excited for her birthday and about the floating lights. Gee. Hope she'd convince her.

"No, no. Can't wait. I distinctly remember. Your birthday was last year," Mom said.

"That's the funny thing about bithdays, they're kind of an annual thing!" She paused for a while and started to talk again.

"Mother, I'm turning eighteen and I wanted to ask.... What I really wanted for this birthday..." She mumbled something that I can't actually understand because she said it in a low voice. Low enough for me not to hear.

"Okay, okay. Stop with the mumbling. You know how I feel about the mumbling. Blah blah blah blah.. It's very annoying! I'm just teasing. You're adorable. I love you so much, my dear."

Rapunzel got a little hopeless but I approached her and encouraged her to try again.

What am I  doing? This won't do. It's completely useless! Mother would never let us out..
