Phil's POV:

I unlock the front door of our flat and begin walking up the stairs, behind Minty.

"Y/n! Dan!" I call out when we get to the top. "We're back!"

No answer.

"Anyone home?" I ask unsurely.

It stays silent.

I turn to Minty and shrug. "They must be out."

She hums in agreement, and follows me as I open the living room door and walk in.

It's dark inside, except for a lamp in the corner, which isn't giving out much light. I flick the light switch on.

"Turn that off!" someone hisses.

Puzzled, I turn it off again, not seeing the source of the voice. "Who's that?" I ask.

"It's Dan. You're going to wake Y/n up!" he continues, angrily.

"Hm...?" another sleepy voice says.

"Well done, she's awake," Dan says to me, sighing.

"Sorry..." I mumble.

"It's fine, Phil," Y/n cuts in, still slightly husky voiced from sleeping.

Dan sighs.

"Can I turn the light on...?" I ask quietly.

"Of course," Y/n replies instantly.

I smile and flick the light switch on again. We all blink in the sudden light change. When my eyes adjust, I see Dan glaring at me. Y/n puts her hand on his arm, and his expression softens when he looks at her.

"Sorry for being so snappy, Phil," he apologises, looking over at me again.

"It's alright," I say, shrugging to show that I forgive him.

"Where did you guys go?" he continues.

"We went to Holland Park," Minty pipes up. "There's a cool Japanese garden place there, which is really pretty."

Dan hums in approval. "Maybe Y/n and I should check it out sometime."

"You should," I agree. "It's amazing!"

Dan's POV:

Y/n seems really miserable today, which is understandable, as she has to go a funeral director tomorrow.

I can't really imagine exactly how she feels, because nothing like this has ever happened to me, luckily. She probably feels horrible.

I feel like I should make her happy again. No, I want to make her happy again.

I nudge her gently, which captures her attention. She looks up at me.

"The past few days have been pretty rubbish, and stressful... we haven't had much 'us time' recently, either. So I was wondering if you wanted to go out somewhere?" I ask.

"Just you and me?" she returns, with an hopeful expression.

"Yup," I confirm.

Her expression brightens up a little. "Yeah, that would be fantastic! I'll go get ready. What should I wear?"

"Something casual," I reply, smiling at her.

"Okay!" she chirps, gathering her crutches up cheerfully and going out of the room.

I chuckle and go into my own room.

*le time skip*

"Ready!" I hear a voice say from outside my room.
