Never Let Go - Danisnotonfire x Reader

Shiz happens.

"Y/n! The pizza's here!"

You stand up hurriedly from your internet position, eager for your food.

You run along the hallway and skid on the wooden floor to the living room.

"Which types did you get?" you ask, breathlessly.

"Vegetable delight, meat feast and (your favourite pizza)," Phil replies, biting into a piece.

You grab a slice of (favourite pizza). You look around, realising there was something, or someone missing.

"Where's Dan?" you ask Phil.

"In his room, probably. I'll go get him," he replies.

"Okay."

You eat more pizza, having a few food-gasms along the way. Phil re-enters with Dan. He gives you a small wave.

"I see you've already eaten half your pizza," he says, grinning at you.

"I was hungry," you say in defence.

Dan helps himself to some pizza too. Phil picks up the remote and puts Adventure Time on. You all sing the theme tune together.

"We're such nerds," you say, chuckling.

*le time skip*

You see Phil push Dan out of his room, grinning widely. You haven't really seen them much, except for the pizza eating.

Dan seems to be avoiding you slightly. Gradually, your mood decreases, and you start to feel lonely. Until-

"Do you want to go out for coffee with me?" Dan asks, standing in your doorway.

"No, thanks," you reply, too lazy to get up.

"Please?" he pleads.

You look up at him, to see him doing the puppy dog eyes at you.

"Fine," you say, getting up and putting on a jacket.

You might have imagined it, but you think you see him jump for joy.

*le time skip*

You've cheered up a lot. It's hard to be sad around Dan. You go to Starbucks (surprise, surprise), with linked arms. You get into Starbucks.

"Wait here," he tells you, going up to order.

You do as he says and wait by the door. He appears again, smiling. He hands you a cup.

"Thanks. What is it?" you ask, smiling.

"You'll see," he says, winking at you. "Come on." He takes your hand and leads you outside.

*le time skip*

You arrive at the gates of the park. You look up at Dan, with a questioning look.

"This is our talking place. I have something important to tell you," he says, taking you to your usual spot under the weeping willow tree.

You let yourself be pulled along by him, wondering what it is he's going to say. Your heart thuds furiously as you get to the bench and sit down.

Dan doesn't speak for a long time, and plays with his fingers nervously.

"So, what is it?" you ask quietly, butterflies fluttering in your stomach.

He takes a deep breath and begins to speak. "Ever since I first saw you, I've been mesmerised. You're different from everyone else. You're beautiful. And you're smart, and funny, and kind. Plus, you like video games. That's always a good sign."

He chuckles quietly.

"I've been trying to sum up enough courage to tell you for ages... so here it is. I think I'm falling in love with you, Y/n."

He looks up at you, his dimples showing, his fringe slightly messy.

You sit there, afraid to breathe, not wanting to ruin the moment with your awkward mouth.

"I think I'm falling in love with you too, Dan," you say eventually.

Dammit.

You look into Dan's eyes and he tucks a strand of your hair behind your ear. You shiver excitedly from the touch.

He cups your face with his hands and begins to lean forward, closing his eyes.

Yours flutter shut too. Your heart is thudding so quickly, he probably can hear it. But you don't care.

Your lips meet, and your stomach erupts into violent butterflies.

You put your hand on his shoulder and bring the kiss deeper.

It seems like forever before you break off for air, blushing like mad.

He smiles at you, his own cheeks tinted pink. You stay sitting there for a bit, looking into each other's eyes, before getting up and heading back to the house.
