We had another event to attend. There were so many that I didn't even try to keep track anymore. I was happy to see that man was 'showing off' there. At one point, he came to serve me a drink and said, 'Goddess?' and winked before leaving. That alone lifted my spirits.
I took advantage of a moment when he was waiting for a new tray to get closer. He smiled and started talking:
"So how are things at home?"
"Different."
He made some funny faces trying to understand my answer. I found it amusing. Then a new tray arrived for him, and he concluded, "If he's not protecting you like he should, I think you should find somebody else. Excuse me," and he said, leaving with the tray.
I watched him as he walked away and started serving the guests, amazed at what he had just said. Lost in my thoughts, I was taken by surprise by Vince, who was watching me from afar, clearly showing indignation.
