Cesar was still missing. I rarely caught sight of him passing by the house, always in a rush. When feelings of insecurity crept in, I closed my eyes and tried to recall our shared moments, attempting to reassure myself of his love. During one of these moments, my meditation was interrupted by Rony's voice.
"Hey, Poodle?" he called out, causing me to open my eyes. "Is everything okay?" As I pondered my response, he added, "Need any help with something?"
I looked at him, not with hatred toward him but rather frustration with the situation I found myself in.
"Well, we could head to your room," I suggested.
"Oh, no, not that," he quickly responded.
"In that case, I'll find someone else," I said, feeling exasperated.
"Looks like we're back to square one," Rony sighed.
