So Much (For) Stardust

Chapter 35

    "Leo is coming over for a couple of days." Pete tells me. 

  "I love my stepson. I'm fine with that." I say. 

  "I was hoping you would be. I know the timing isn't great." He says. 

  "Petey its okay. When does he get here?" I ask. 

  "Tomorrow morning. He has something he wants to talk to us about." He states. 

   "Good to know. We have a tour rehearsals to get to." I say, getting up. 

  "We do." He says also getting up. 

   We leave and head to our tour rehearsals. We run through our set a few times. I love who I get to do it with. I'm really grateful for us as a band. I love it. 

  "Can we have lunch somewhere?" I ask Pete as rehearsal ends. 

  "Where are you wanting to go?" He asks me. 

  "I'm thinking that we should have some Thai." I suggest. 

  "Alright then." He says. 

  "Mind if we join?" Joe asks. 

  "Not at all." I state to him. 

  Andy smiles. "We don't have to if its an issue." He says. 

  "It's not." Pete says as we leave. 

  We meet Joe and Andy at the restaurant. We sit down at the table. "You two look happy." Joe says. "It's nice to see those smiles back. I missed it." 

  "Confessing really changed our lives." I say, squeezing Pete's thigh. 

  Pete bites his lip. I hit a nerve and I know it. "It did. We're married now." 

  Andy grins. "It took you two long enough to get there. I am proud of both of you." He says. 

  "Same." Joe agrees. 

  "We've all come a long way and it took us twenty-three years. We have gone a long way since the band started. I love you guys. You're family." I say. I love these three guys. They have changed my life. I wouldn't be who I am without them. Pete is part of who I am now. He always has been. 

  "Trick..Patty cakes you there?" Pete snaps me out of my thoughts. 

  "You okay?" Joe asks. "We are family." 

  "We are. I love you guys too." Andy states to us.
