ASTRID'S POV

As I bustled around the kitchen, preparing for the grand feast, my focus was entirely on the task at hand.

The tantalizing scents of food filled the air, and the sound of clinking utensils echoed through the room.

It was a flurry of activity, and I reveled in the joy of creating something special for the occasion.

In the midst of my preparations, I caught a glimpse of Thomas through the window.

He was working diligently, sweat glistening on his forehead as he expertly wielded an axe, cutting down trees as per father's instructions.

He even took off his shirt, it made me want to watch him even more.

I couldn't help but be captivated by his hardworking nature and the way his muscles flexed beneath his shirt, a smile appeared on my face as I leaned on the doorm

Just as our eyes met, Thomas flinched and quickly covered his bare chest, a blush creeping up his neck, making me laugh.

His sudden shyness made me chuckle, and I couldn't help but feel a rush of warmth in my cheeks.

Gathering my courage, I approached him, a mischievous glint in my eyes.

"Thomas," I called out, my voice filled with playful teasing. "Are you trying to impress the trees with your shirtless chopping skills?"

He grinned sheepishly, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, Astrid, you know, sometimes trees appreciate a little extra effort."

I laughed, feeling my shyness melt away in his presence. "Well, Mr. Tree Whisperer, I have a proposal for you. I'm preparing a feast, and I think you deserve a seat at the table. What do you say?"

Thomas raised an eyebrow, pretending to consider my invitation. "Oh, Astrid, as much as I'd love to dine with you, I'm afraid I can't afford such luxuries. You know, us hardworking folks have simple tastes." We both laughed.

Playing along, I feigned shock and narrowed my eyes. "Oh, I see how it is. You're just too humble to accept my gracious offer, huh?"

Thomas chuckled, his eyes dancing with mirth. "Exactly, Astrid. Humility is my middle name." He winked.

With a playful roll of my eyes, I turned to walk away, giving the door an exaggerated slam.

And after the door could close completely, I heard Thomas's voice, filled with mock fear, calling out, "Mmm, scary scary woman."

His lighthearted comment made me burst into laughter, and I couldn't help but feel a warmth spreading through my heart.
