*Our hearts were pounding in our chests, our bodies shaking from cold and fear. In that moment, I felt my courage rise slightly. I put all of my trust into this unknown figure, hoping with all my heart that he had what it took to protect us from the elements outside. However, at the same time, I couldn't help but feel fear. We knew absolutely nothing about this strange person, and I couldn't help but wonder, was there a chance that he wasn't here to help us after all? I could feel tears starting to well up in my eyes.

*Suddenly, something unexpected happened. The figure stepped away, and then suddenly, the entrance to the cave was open. Sam and I looked at each other, feeling relieved and anxious all at once. We rushed inside, finding shelter from the elements outside. But as soon as we were inside, we heard a loud, crashing sound from behind us.*

*We turned to look, and our hearts sunk as we saw the figure standing outside, looking through the entrance into where we were hiding. I couldn't help but feel like we should have known better than to trust this stranger.

*We watched as the figure stood at the entrance of the cave, its eyes fixed on us. We heard thunder booming outside, and the rain was still falling, making it difficult to see. I looked over at Sam, who stood beside me, shaking from cold and fear, his eyes still filled with dread. I turned back towards the figure, feeling an uneasy and foreboding feeling rising within me.*

*Suddenly, a lightning bolt struck outside, and I saw the figure standing there in the shadows, its features still shrouded in mystery. Was it here to help us... or to do us harm?

*Before I could say anything else, we heard a loud voice booming from outside. It sounded like thunder, but it was coming from the figure's mouth, as if its voice was the sound of thunder itself. The voice boomed, but the words were hard to make out, the thunder drowning out most of it. In my head, I tried to make sense of the words even through the chaos of the storm.*

*"Come out,* "

*The thunder boomed once again, echoing inside the cave. It was enough to make Sam and I both jump.

*I looked over at Sam, who stood right beside me, his body shaking from the cold, the rain and thunder still pouring down outside.*

*"We can't,"*

*I whispered to him.*

*"We're safe in here. And even if we do go out there, what if the figure hurts us? We have no idea who they are or what they want."*

*But Sam didn't seem to hear me. He was staring out through the opening of the cave, his face filled with fear and determination at the same time.

*"We can't just hide in here forever,"*

*Sam whispered back to me, his face even more determined. I could see the fear in his eyes, yet his words were filled with hope and courage.*

*"I know we don't know that figure, but I can't just sit back and do nothing. I know this storm is going to kill us out there, but sitting in here isn't going to help. I have to go out there, I have to. I'll be alright. Don't worry."
