That day changed my life forever. It made me realize a lot of things and priorities.

"Verly, tapos na?" Luz asked as she pull her cart. Isinara ko ang pintuan bago tumango. "Ilang room pa ang sa'yo?"

Napangiti ako. Verly, that's my name now.

"Still got four. Pero mago-overtime pa ako."

"You'll overtime? May magbabantay ba sa mga anak mo?"

I nodded. "Kailangan ko kasing umuwi ng maaga sa sabado. Alam mo naman, birthday nila sa linggo."

She nodded. "Ay pupunta kami nila Korina at Dodang. Tutulungan ka naming magluto."

Napangiti ako at sumang-ayon.

I went inside the room that I will clean and didn't waste any minute.

Just like what I've said, tuluyan nang naiba ang buhay ko.

I now work as a Housekeeper in Westin Nanea Hotel Resort for almost years now. Funny how I am the one mandating helpers before at heto ako ngayon, alipin sa ibang bansa.

I fixed the bed at nagtanggal ng mga naiwang power plugs. I could finish my job as early as thirty minutes per room.

I was massaging my neck habang papalabas. The sunset is breathtaking, indeed, Maui is one of the best island.

What benefits me is that, ten minutes walk lang ang apartment na inuupahan ko sa resort kung sa dalampasigan ako dadaan. Tons of guest were happily enjoying the fine beach as the golden ray of sun hits the land. May mga nagsu-surf at banana boat. There are yatchs and small boats a bit from from the shore.

Tall coconut trees are dancing with the lively bermuda grass and nipa chairs of the beach. I didn't know that I'll enjoy it. This simple life. Nakakapagod man ngunit fulfulling.

My children grew up in a lively enviroment dahil napapalibutan kami ng mga beach resorts. I could hear hawaiian song being played nearby as the birds freely fly.

They are playing with local children while Nana Dolores watches them. Marami ang pinoy dito.

"Mama!" Rhysea saw me first at tumakbo upang salubungin ako ng yakap.

I chuckled when she sweetly hugged me.

Fauna is crossing her arms bago tumayo at yumakap sa akin.

"Why are you glaring at Beath, Fauna?" I asked.

She pouted. "Because he ruined my castle and replace it!"

Beath tsked and stood up. "No, Mama. The waves destroyed her castle, I want to build her a new one but she doesn't like it."

Umiling nalang ako at yumuko. "Come here, baby." I said to my baby boy.

"Don't fight, okay? Hindi ba kayo nahihiya kay Nana Dolores? Palagi nalang kayong nag-aaway, Beath and Fauna."

Nana Dolores laughed. "Nako. Hindi naman, hija. Naaaliw nga ako't may inaalagaan."

I smiled when I saw Beath whispering at Fauna, tapos ay napangiti ang huli bago niyakap ang bunso namin.
