He Who Suffers In Silence

Not by his choice, but still..

The idea in itself was kinda funny, a kid protecting the great Valkyrie. "And here I thought that when you said all that stuff it meant your boss was a hero. Guess I assumed wrong."

Almost immediately, Alpha's face twisted into fury, his voice strained. "Don't talk like you understand them. Boss is a hero, to me."

At that, Hikari's head snapped up, an unreadable expression on her face. "Wait, you two have met each other? When?"

Shadow only sighed though, the agent moving to his unsteady feet with reply. "Yeah, I saved the kid from some liberation villains during the raid. Didn't know he was one of your lackey's though."

Yet before she could answer, Alpha did so for her, a hiss of warning in the air. "I never asked for a dog's help."

And it was obvious to tell that whatever comradely the two shared at the liberation mansion was long gone. No, now the kid knew exactly who this man was, he had taken his boss, the most important person in the world to him.

That was enough to make him an enemy.

Shadow didn't feel all that chatty either, now knowing that the boy wasn't as innocent as he once looked. Because if he was in a gang and followed Valkyrie, his crimes could also be just as long as hers. "Well, I couldn't let you get stabbed either. Unlike your boss, I'm not a villain."

At that, the silver haired kid then took a warning step closer, his finger on the silver gun in his hand with heavy threat. "You shut your mouth. Boss is amazing, you are the villain here. If you keep talking like that.."

Narrowing his eyes at Alpha's words, Shadow very clearly saw his shaking hands and visible veins appear through the minimal lighting of this underground bunker. Damn, this kid was really serious wasn't he? Did he really value the bird that much?

Just then, another hand entered the space, pushing her hand into Alpha's chest in order to recreate the imaginary barrier as Hikari sighed. "Alright alright, that's enough. You're gonna pull something if you keep that up. Whether you like it or not, emo boy here is my partner, which means nothing happens to him, understand?"

Screwing his brows together in a glare, the silver haired kid seemingly ignored the words completely, instead staring at the commission agent with hidden intent as his chest pressed against his boss's hand silently with fury.

And for a moment, Shadow was sure that the boy was going to disobey his boss and attack him head on.

That was until he heard Hikari's voice again, void of humor. "Alpha."

At that Alpha felt his shoulders tense with conflict before finally closing his eyes in defeat a moment later and stepping back as his throat hid a grumble. "Yes, I understand."

Although that's when the boy's face turned dark before pulling a silver gun from his pocket in order to point it at the followers that were watching the show. "Leave. Don't make me ask twice or you'll regret it."

At that, all of their shoulders turned rigid before bowing once in compliance and leaving the room immediately as Hikari stood stunned by the kid's new scary demeanor. His voice was so cold, nothing like the Alpha she knew.

Once the door was shut, the air grew quiet as Shadow narrowed his eyes at the kid's new and scary demeanor. And for a moment, he thought he saw his hand twitch, almost like the boy was going to point the gun at him next.

Although the agent's concentration was broken when Valkyrie started to move towards the boy her eyes hooded in dark serious intent in order to reach a hand up to the kid as Shadow followed her gaze.
