Book 2 chapter 11 The desert

Amity's intro

Water. Earth. Fire. Air. 

Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed her most, she vanished. A hundred years passed, and me, Willow and Gus discovered the new Avatar, an airbender named Luz. And although her airbending skills are great, she has a lot to learn before she's ready to save anyone. 

But I believe Luz can save the world

The camera shows a wide-view of the desert. Team Avatar looks in every direction over the vast ocean of sand for Appa. The camera halts as Luz and Boscha come into view. Luz turns around to face Boscha angrily.

(Enraged.) “How could you let them take Appa?! ‌ Why didn't you stop them?!” Luz asked with rage

Cut to close-up of Luz's angry face.

(Defensively.) “I couldn't! The library was sinking! You guys were still inside and-” Boscha didn’t finish

Luz interrupts Boscha as she walks over to her.

(Still enraged.) “You could've come to get us. I could've saved him!” Luz yelled

(Turns to face her slightly.) “I can hardly feel any vibrations out here. The sandbenders snuck up on me and there wasn't time for –” Boscha didn’t finish

(Snaps at Boscha harshly.) “You just didn't care! You never liked Appa! You wanted him gone!” Luz yelled

Luz looks extremely furious at Boscha as Amity walks over to her. She puts her hand on her shoulder to try and calm her down.

“Luz, stop it. You know Boscha did all she could. She saved our lives.” Amity said

Camera moves to Willow, who is still looking out into the desert.

“Who's going to save our lives now? We'll never make it out of here.” Willow said

Luz irately walks away from the rest of the group.

“That's all any of you guys care about, yourselves! You don't care whether Appa is okay or not!” Luz yelled

“We're all concerned, but we can't afford to be fighting now.” Amity said

(In a cold, hard tone.) “I'm going after Appa.” Luz said

Luz flies off with her glider. Amity calls after her, running to the place she took off.

“Luz, wait!” Amity said

Cut to a view from the sky, showing Luz flying away from the rest of the group who stand by the large crater created by the disappeared library. Cut back to Amity, who is still looking in the direction Luz took off.

“We'd better start walking. We're the only people who know about the solar eclipse. We have to get that information to Ba Sing Se.” Amity said

The group starts walking in the same direction as Luz took off to, with Amity leading the way, followed by Gus, Willow, Eda and Camila. Boscha closes the ranks.

“You think if we dig out the giant owl, he'll give us a ride?” (gets her ear pinched by Camila getting leaned forward by it.) “ow, ow, ow! Just curious!” Willow said

Cut to Lilith and Kaldo riding on their ostrich horse. Kaldo fake-moans in pretend pain at every step the ostrich horse takes, clasping his left arm.
