"Oh and shut the door on your way out, would ya?" He says while sitting back fully relaxed against the wall. "I'm sure you've been told about the key by now, but rest assured, I don't have it on me despite popular belief. It's not here, Vee. So sleep well tonight because when morning comes, you'll be the one making the move. Either you tell me the truth I want to hear, or you lie, and it ends here."
"You're going to kill me," I say aloud, watching him shrug his shoulders as if it's up in the air at this point.
"That choice is yours. You think I killed one of my men earlier because he tried to rape you? I could give less of a fuck what his intentions were. I killed him to send a message. I won't hesitate to kill anyone, so yes, I'm more than capable of killing you. Now, I'm being generous and giving you until morning to get your story together. Don't waste this opportunity. It may be your last."
With that hanging on my shoulders and a sensation of fear and doom running down my body, I exit his room and shut his door.
I walk quietly down the hallway where I enter my bedroom and grab the walkie-talkie behind the bed. With it secured in my palm, I exit my bedroom and walk carefully to the front door where I unlock it and slip outside into the hallway where my anxiety slightly eases.
"Hoseok, come in. He knows. I'm leaving the building now. There's no key. He's going to kill me. Over." I say while running down the hallway and taking the stairs.
"I'll be there in ten. Wait in the parking garage on level one. I'll pick you up, and we'll contact the others. Over." With my heart beating a million miles per second, I turn to Yoongi's channel as I race down the steps.
"Hello—"
"I need Jungkook. Get him on now!" I need to hear his voice. After a few more seconds I hear an alerted Jungkook over the walkie-talkie.
"What's wrong, Vee? What's happening?" It sounds so good to hear him.
"Ghost knows. He's threatened to kill me, and there's no key. Hoseok is on his way to pick me up. When he does, I'm coming straight over to you. I need you, Jungkook. I can't stand being separated any longer if we don't have to be."
I bust the exit door open and rush across the sky bridge into the parking garage. I find another set of stairs and rush down them to the first floor.
"Me either. I'll head over to Hoseok's hideout. I'll be waiting for you. God, I love you so much, Vee. I won't ever let you go once you're in my arms again. I swear I won't ever let anyone hurt you. I love you." With tears at the edge of my eyes, I continue hurrying down the steps.
"I love you, too. I'll see you soon. Be careful, Jungkook." I say.
"Don't worry about me. If I can endure weeks without you by my side, then I can endure anything." I hold the device and smile when opening the other exit door.
I stand on the first level of the garage, staring at the entrance and exit. I wait for Hoseok to come speeding in. I wait impatiently for a few minutes until I see headlights turning inside.
He pulls up to me and opens the car door once seeing me. "Get in, and I'll drive us over to Yoongi's—"
"No, we're going back to your place. Jungkook's meeting us there." I admit, starting to open the car door.
Before I can, a sudden burst of pain shoots through my leg, and I'm falling to the ground.
I hold my leg in pain and look to the exit door. I see Ghost standing there with a few of his men and a gun in his palm. The defeat must show on my features because he's smiling.
He starts walking to me where I attempt to sit up. "Oh Vee, I gave you the choice. Now look at you. You've got a bullet right through your leg. It would be a shame if the next one ended up in your head—"
"You take one more step near her, and I'll blow your brains out right here. Don't fucking test me." Hoseok comes around the car, holding a gun, too.
Ghost stares at him for a second and starts laughing hard. "Is that you, Hoseok? You look ugly as shit. I always had a hunch you lived through it deep down. I guess I did enough damage that you would be hiding in the shadows."
After Hoseok remains quiet, Ghost mocks him.
"Yeah, sure. I'd like to see you try." Ghost turns around to his men and laughs but is caught off guard by Hoseok's gunfire. The bullet hits Ghost's arm, sending him back a tad.
"That's a warning shot. Now back up!" Hoseok comes around the car to where he lowers himself and grabs my side to hold me up.
"I'm getting you out of here, and they'll handle this." He whispers in my ear while glancing at them. He turns to me. "Now hold onto my shoulder—"
My vision goes red when another gunshot goes off. I fall to the ground with Hoseok next to me. Touching my face, blood is covering it, and I attempt to wipe it away quickly on the shirt.
"H-Hoseok," I choke, shaking his body and then noticing the blood that oozes out of his head. I stare at him, unblinking.
The garage caving in, the pounding in my ears, and the warmth of his blood over my face are too real. Everything is too focused on. I grip my shirt in the center of my chest. My heart pounds rapidly. I'm dying.
I have to get away; I have to move. I try standing, but my legs are paralyzed. I stare at my shaking hands and attempt to pull myself up, but my hands are deaf to my commands, too.
Voices and sounds disappear in my ears, replaced with ringing instead. I can't think.
I can't control my breathing. I shake uncontrollably. My breaths come quickly. I'm suffocating. I can't get enough air; I need air.
I'm yanked away, but the hand around my arm is numb, just like me.
