"I called in a bomb threat at the prison earlier using recordings of Ghost's voice. I had him mention the bombs and everything. I may have lied by editing his voice to say that, but it's the only way it would've worked."
"They began transporting the prisoners earlier, and we took over the prison buses. Everyone's safe and protected, Vee. I've got a friend who works for homeland security; he's going to help us now that we got a little more dirt on Ghost. They have enough evidence to bring him in. I'll be pardoned for editing Ghost's voice and the phone call if we can get the rest of the evidence he's got hidden away."
"Homeland security is en route to take down Ghost's men in Canada with the help of their country's authorities. Another branch is being prepared to help take Ghost out himself, but they wanted to take down most of his men before they scattered everywhere in case they found out about him being apprehended. In summary, he, along with his men, are being arrested for the threat of terrorism against the United States and Canada. He's going down, Vee. You just make sure to get that key before he finds a way to get rid of it. Over."
It's a lot to take in, but I feel better knowing that some good has happened already. They know about the prison, and Hoseok got everyone out in time. Ghost is toast after this is all over.
"I'm on it. You can count on me, Hoseok. I think he's wearing it, so I'll make up a plan to get close enough to him to snatch it. Over." I admit, waiting as calmly as I can for his response.
"Good. As soon as you find it, radio me, and I'll be right there. I have information on where you're staying and what room. I'll need to get you out before homeland security goes in. They'll have to evacuate the building which is going to start sometime tomorrow night. You have that much of a window to get it. Can you do it, Vee? Over."
He doesn't doubt me. He genuinely wants to know if I feel confident enough to pull this off. Even if I'm worried, I won't let him know that. He doesn't need any more pressure on him than there already is, so I partially lie. I'm worried, but I'm prepared as much as I can be and that's what it ultimately comes down to.
"I can do this, Hoseok. I'll get it and be out as soon as I can. I'll call you tomorrow when I have it. Over." I hear his laugh come from the other end when he holds down the button.
"When this is all over, I'm going to treat you to my favorite restaurant. And... I think I might tell Acid who I really am. Not now, of course. She needs to be focused, but I miss my little sister, and I'm happy seeing her be a big sister to you in a way. I know this isn't the time or place, but I hope one day you can build a relationship with her. She's been watching out for you since you ever stepped foot in that warehouse, even though she was forced to act differently, she always wanted to be close to you. Over."
I hold the walkie-talkie in my palm for a few seconds, not sure what to say because I haven't been focused on her at all or our connection.
"I'll try for you, Hoseok. Over." I admit.
"Don't do it for me, Vee—or her—do it for yourself. If you want her in your life or if you don't is your choice, but I still think you should at least give her a chance. From the moment she found out about having a younger sister, she's tried so hard to protect you since I faked my death. I owe her, too."
There are a few minutes in between that last sentence where we say nothing. I don't know what he's thinking, but I know he's not finished talking.
