Alpha Queen Amory's POV

Amory couldn't describe the warmth spreading over her as she watched the sunrise stretch out into the horizon, the steam from her mug allowed another round of tranquility to perfect the start of this holiday—Truly, she didn't know how she pulled herself out of bed this morning.

Romulus' warmth was a blessing, one that she enjoyed the entirety of throughout the winter. Nobody would believe her that their King was as obsessed with it as she was.

Something about the closeness after so many years of being alone and fending for ones self had made them both appreciative of the smallest of things. Considering that Romulus was scrambling beside her in an attempt to get their breakfast all sorted.

It was readily adorable to see him so fixated on something, but things weren't doing that well on the forefront of keeping her secret. If it weren't for her drowning in the scent of her herbal tea, things would have been different.

Amory would have heaved beside her and pushed Romulus into a panic.

Oh, the joys of pregnancy!

"I wish we were able to do this in the Kingdom—But even your mother's garden wouldn't offer this sort of view." Amory hummed as she smiled kindly back at her husband, who was already building her plate for her to snack on.

Though the last thing she wanted to do was eat anything until her stomach settled, so she thanked him as she usually did with a small kiss to his chin and placed it down beside her. "Not hungry?"

"Not this second...Go ahead." Perhaps it was his guilty pleasure to see Amory take the first bite of every meal, but seeing her eyeing the plate in worry had caused his own pause in movement.

"I said it before, but this was a fantastic idea. The fresh air is so different that there's nothing to compare it to." The compliment had her smile, but that still hadn't shaken the tired gaze to where her usual fiery temper was stationed.

No, instead, she simply closed her eyes and moved to position the pillow better, hoping to set her weight more evenly. As if there wasn't enough going on her body, the aches were getting worse before they were getting better.

"I know you managed to enjoy the packs, but I needed this just as much. Besides, it's so quiet at night that—"
"We were anything but quiet. Now, would you like me to feed you or—?" She snorted but accepted the small bites of buttered bread that he hand-fed her. Allowing her to return the favor with the cooked meats that were no doubt delivered from the moment that Romulus had woken up.

It was a bit backward that the Delta was here beside the King—While the Beta was stationed beside the Advisor. But all that had drifted from her attention as she caught the slight nibble Romulus took from her offered hand.

Sparking another round of claiming words, something that could not happen before Amory told him the truth. "You know what would be wonderful before the heat returns?... A swim." She hadn't allowed him the chance to speak before she ditched her spot on the blanket and left her mug idly by her plate—Not turning back as she stripped from her lounge dress.

One that Romulus couldn't handle deviating his eyes from the lovely curves of his mate. An absolute blessing as he took another sliver of meat and leaned back. "Don't mind me, my mate. I am just enjoying the show."
"I hope there aren't any other wolves around...I really don't want you hunting down someone who sees too much skin." She laughed, taking a cautious step into the cooling water.

"There isn't anyone for miles." She hummed as she turned and began to swim backward as she kept the much-heated gaze. "That's good to hear, I was worried. But I do have something wonderful to share."
"Wonderful news to share? Perhaps you could discuss it with me dressed and not drenched and all too ready for a chase." She turned and laughed her heart out before following his advice, and returned forward—Being greeted with open arms and an extra blanket to act as her towel. Though her pillow was left empty as Romulus dragged her into his lap, rubbing the blanket to dry her off.
