Evelyn's POV:

"God Ev, look at the man's muscles." My best friend June whistled.

My eyes about bugged out of my head as I nudged her gently with my free hand, as the other held onto the handle of my glass tea cup.

The cup was filled with brightly colored flowers, as gold trim surrounded the rim.

I was wearing a short white dress, with my signature light pink heels as my hair was tied up in a simple pink scrunchie, in a sort of half up-half down look.

I also decided to pair it with some pink velvet gloves as well, just to add a little spice.

Elena couldn't help but snort out a laugh as my eyes looked over at Kane for like the millionth time.

I couldn't help but notice exactly what June had mentioned. His muscles were like a work of art. A work of magic, perhaps. They were absolute perfection, God. What I wouldn't give to

My eyes widened slightly as I immediately brushed that thought out of my head.

I shouldn't be thinking about ANYTHING that involves this man. And especially not his body.

"I have to agree with him." Elena said as she eyed him down like a snack.

Kane was on the phone with someone, but his eyes wandered elsewhere, only occasionally glancing over here to watch me.

"Stop, guys! That's my bodyguard." I whispered.

June rolled her eyes playfully as Elena took a sip of her tea.

"Yeah, you're fine as hell, bodyguard." June couldn't help say.

This time, I couldn't help but chuckle. She was right. He was finer than wine.

But, just because his looks may be and A+ doesn't mean that his personality made up for it.

"Don't be fooled by his looks." I began to say as I leaned in, causing June and Elena to become more invested. I am eager to know what I would say next.

"He's a ass."

June chuckled. "I know. I caught a glance at it as we walked in."

I rolled my eyes as I sat my back into my chair a little more. My back hit the edge of the chair.

"I am being serious, guys. It's only been a week, and I already want to tear my hair out. He's driving me insane."

Elena took a sip of her tea before sighing out and crossing her arms.

"Have you tried to talk to him?"

My eyes widened. "At least a million times. I have asked him about his friends, family, hobbies, what he likes to do for fun, even his favorite color, and he won't tell me anything."

June shrugged her shoulders. "Well, as they say in Shrek, you just have to pull him back a layer at a time."

I pressed my palm against my forehead. "I don't know if I can deal with him anymore, guys. The only time I get to talk to anyone that I like is you guys, and my mother and father rarely ever let me go out anymore due to the season about to start."

Elena quivered her lip as she slightly looked down at her lap.

June, on the other hand, looked at me as I spoke.

"Babes. You can't get rid of ANOTHER bodyguard. Your mom and dad would kill you."

I shook my head.

No matter how bad I desperately wanted Kane gone. They were right. Mother and father would NEVER agree to me getting yet, another, person to guard me. They would tell me off.
