𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐃, painting the sky with hues of gold and casting a gentle warmth upon the world. But to him, it wasn't warmth that he felt. Quackity awoke, his breath shallow and panicked, causing Y/N to rush to his side with a worried gaze.

Y/N anxiously asked Quackity if he was alright, their eyes locking in a moment before the realization dawned upon them both—he had seen it too.

"Quackity, did you see it too?" Y/N asked, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and urgency. Quackity nodded solemnly, confirming that he had indeed witnessed the unsettling sight. Y/N took a deep breath, attempting to steady herself, and offered a reassuring hand to Quackity,  as they began to discuss what they had seen.

As they exchanged their experiences and theories, their voices filled with a sense of unease, a soft knock interrupted their conversation. Y/N's heart skipped a beat as Bad's concerned voice came through the door, asking if they were alright. Y/N and Quackity exchanged hesitant glances, unsure of how much they should reveal. After a moment of hesitation, they nodded to each other, their silent agreement conveying their decision to keep the truth hidden. "Yeah, we're fine," Y/N replied to Bad, her voice betraying only a hint of the apprehension that lingered within.

"Food's ready, guys. We're waiting for you," Bad informed them before leaving. Y/N and Quackity exchanged weary glances, silently acknowledging the weight of the situation. She pulled Quackity into a tight embrace, finding comfort in their shared experience. "I can't believe what we had just fucking saw," Quackity murmured, his voice filled with a mixture of concern and curiosity. Y/N nodded in agreement; their minds still consumed by the vivid images of the vision they had witnessed. With heavy thoughts lingering in their minds, they reluctantly parted ways and made their way downstairs, knowing that their journey was far from over.

Y/N's POV

I descended the stairs, drawn by the tantalizing aroma that enveloped the air, momentarily distracting me from the weight of the vision. Entering the bustling kitchen, I found my place next to George, who greeted me with a warm smile. Quackity joined the table, taking a seat beside Philza. The scent of food filled my senses, momentarily easing the intensity of our shared revelation, as we prepared to partake in a meal that would momentarily distract us from the mysteries that awaited our exploration.

As we engaged in lively conversation, Philza suddenly broached the subject of our planned visit to the hidden kingdom the following morning. The news caught me off guard, causing me to stifle a laugh, while Quackity had a brief moment of choking on his food before recovering. Our exchanged glance did not go unnoticed by the others, their curiosity piqued by our unspoken connection. We exchanged knowing smiles, a silent testament to the secrets we held, leaving them intrigued and eager to uncover what lay beneath our shared amusement.

Amidst our chatter, Dream subtly cleared his throat, effectively capturing everyone's attention. He continued the discussion about our impending visit to the hidden kingdom, emphasizing the importance of our timely arrival. Philza's words resonated with me, but it was Techno's mention of a letter that intrigued me further. He had sent a message to Steve earlier, hopeful for a reply before nightfall, provided Steve wasn't preoccupied with other matters. The anticipation of receiving a response intensified, and the air crackled with a mix of excitement and curiosity as we eagerly awaited the events that would unfold.

Venturing outside the house, I sought solace under the shade of the tree where the swing gently swayed. Finding comfort in the stillness of nature, I was joined by Ranboo, who sat by my side, engrossed in scribbling thoughts within his trusty notebook.

I asked Ranboo if he was feeling okay these days, to which he replied with a reassuring yes. Then, he returned the question, asking if I was feeling the same. I paused for a moment, contemplating, before a smile graced my lips. As if in response, my bird companion, Dande, fluttered down next to Ranboo, seemingly curious about what he was writing in his notebook.

Ranboo reached into his pocket, retrieving a handful of bird seeds, and gently fed them to Dande, who happily nibbled away. Just as a few peaceful minutes passed, Tommy came running towards us, plopping down next to Ranboo and engaging in a playful tussle with the bird. I couldn't help but chuckle at their antics, relishing the moment of tranquility. However, my peaceful respite was abruptly interrupted by Sapnap and George, who were playfully toying with fire and wind, coming dangerously close to igniting the tree.

Sapnap and George quickly apologized for their near mishap, expressing their regret. I couldn't help but laugh it off, finding their antics more amusing than anything. Tommy, however, didn't hold back, promptly flipping them the middle finger before darting away, much to their amusement. Turning to Ranboo, I let out a contented sigh and mentioned that I was heading back to the house. Ranboo simply hummed in response, finding solace in the comforting presence of the tree and the company of Dande.

I entered my room, preparing my clothes for a shower, glancing at the mirror to catch a glimpse of my reflection. As I removed Sapnap's bandana, my mist-covered eye was unveiled, its ethereal whiteness staring back at me. Before I could dwell on it further, a knock on the door startled me, and I turned to see Dream peeking in, his presence unexpected yet familiar.

"Dream?" I spoke, my voice filled with confusion. "Can we talk for a minute?" He requested, and I nodded, inviting him into my room. I waited, eager to hear what he had to say. "Are you okay now?" he asked, his concern evident in his eyes. I furrowed my brows, momentarily puzzled. But then he clarified, "I mean, do you have enough energy for tomorrow? We can reschedule if you're not up for it." I interjected, a smile gracing my lips, "Don't worry, Dream. I'm fine."

"That's good," Dream replied, his voice tinged with relief. "I don't want anything to happen to any of you. We can't lose more." His words came out as almost a whisper, but I caught them nonetheless. Just as Dream was about to open the door, I surprised him by embracing him from behind. "Don't think too much about us," I said, my voice filled with warmth. "Think of yourself too. We're all in this together, aren't we?" Dream chuckled and hummed in agreement, turning to face me. "Right," he said gratefully. "Thank you, Y/N." With that, he returned the hug and then left the room, leaving me to continue with what I was doing before.

Y/N let out a sigh as she stood in front of the mirror, absentmindedly staring at her own reflection. She began combing through her hair, unaware that her gaze was met by a pair of eyes looking back at her. Lost in her thoughts, she continued to groom herself, hoping to find some semblance of calm amidst the chaos that surrounded them.

In our reflection, we see shadows.
