"Hi babe!"

"As usual, you're late," I answered.

Napasimangot naman siya bago umupo sa tabi ko, "wala man lang hello?"

We are here in the cafeteria. I was waiting for her for almost 15 minutes. Gutom na kaya ako, kung kaya ko lang sana um-order mag-isa. I'm hesitant to place an order alone, given that this place is very packed.

"Bilisan mo na." Tinulak ko siya patayo.

"Teka lang kasi!" Pag angal niya. But I'm persistent so wala siyang nagawa kung hindi tumayo. "Tinakbo ko kaya papunta dito. Let me take a rest for a minute."

"Gutom na ko. Come on." I pushed her again. "Your treat. Late ka."

She got her purse in her bag. "Ikaw magiging dahilan pag naghirap ako."

"Nah, it's your fault for always being late."

Nang makaalis na siya, kinuha ko ang phone ko para i-check ulit ang e-mail na natanggap ko kaninang umaga. I immediately grinned when I saw the letter. I'm not sure why, but just seeing this made me happy. I think I've made progress towards her.

"I knew it." Yas put our food on the table then sat beside me. "Something happened. Ano chika?"

"Chika na naman. Wala." Kinuha ko ang para sa'kin at nagsimula na kumain.

She started eating too. "Is it about K?" Napahinto ako ng bahagya. "Okay you don't need to answer. Wag kang masiyadong kiligin."

"Issue ka."

Nagpatuloy lang ako sa pagkain at hindi na pinansin pa ang pangungulit niya. She keeps on teasing me about that. Hindi ba pwedeng masaya lang kasi mas nakikilala ko pa siya? Besides, K is an interesting person who knows how to have an interesting conversation. Sino hindi matutuwa kapag kausap siya?

Nagkita na lang ulit kami ni Yas nung uwian. Sana naman wala masyadong tao sa Li Cafe. I want to see K to ask her if she can make it longer next time. Nakakabitin talaga kasi.

"I'm excited to see K."

"Why?" I asked. We are on our way now to Li Café.

She shrugged. "Wala lang. I can't believe we've been with K all this time." Lumingon siya sa gawi ko, "taga timpla mo pa kung minsan ng kape."

"Baliw ka talaga." I let out a small laugh.

"Why? Totoo naman." Natatawa niyang saad.

When I noticed that there weren't many people inside the Li Cafe, I was relieved. When we finally entered, I could smell the freshly prepared coffee. K is standing at the back of the counter when my eyes naturally turn to look for her. Siya ulit ang may hawak ng cashier, busy siya sa ginagawa niya.

"Magandang hapon po." Pagbati niya nang hindi kami nililingon. "What's your or-" Naputol ang sasabihin niya nang mag angat ito ng tingin.

"It's like you seeing a ghost." Saad ni Yas na kinatawa ko ng mahina. "Ganda naman namin multo."

"The usual pa rin po ba." Nahihiya niyang tanong without looking at us.

"Yes please." Ako na ang sumagot. Inabot ko na rin ang bayad. "Are you embarrassed by what you did just now or is it because of what you sent earlier?"

It quickly got her attention. "Huh?"

"Humahaba na ang pila, maya na tayo mag chikahan." Yas whispered.
