Minho's POV

"Dr. Lee, thank you so much. Thank you for what you did. It wouldn't be successful if it weren't for you." the parent of the patient I did a heart a transplant on

"It would be successful as well if Dra. Ahn did the heart transplant. I am sorry for what happened. She was just having a problem at the moment, but she is truly sorry for what happened."

"I do understand. I also want to thank her but I didn't see her around." parent

"She went home earlier. Don't worry. She'll be here tomorrow."

She thanked me over and over again and I left.

Chaerin was supposed to be on duty today but she can't come. Seungmin called me and told me that Chaerin was attacked last night by some stranger and it was believed that he is affiliated with the people who threatens Felix.

"Dr. Lee, this is the records of the patient that Dra. Ahn were monitoring." the nurse said and gave it to me

"Continue checking their vitals if needed. Update me always. Don't bother Dra. Ahn, she is not feeling well."

"Yes, Doc." she said and left

I left the building and went to the parking lot which is also outside the building. Right then, two ambulance car arrived and people were rushing too.

"Dr. Lee! We need your help!" nurse called me

I hurriedly went to them and opened the ambulance car, but then as soon as the stretcher was brought down. My heart sanked.

It was Felix's Dad.

I froze. It was like a moment I have never expected to happen. I am scared. What if I failed to help? What if I failed to treat him? What if I failed to be a doctor?

"Dr. Lee! Wake up! The patient needs you!" the doctor said who is currently helping Felix's Mom

I hurriedly started doing what I have to do. I went on top of him and nurses were helping me as well. We were trying our best to help him survive.

"Lee Minho! What are you doing?!!" the doctor shouted as he saw me

"I-I am trying to- I..." I am in the verge of tears while trying to recover the King

As we arrived at the emergency room, the nurses were doing their job. I was doing mine while tears falling from my eyes. My hands were shaking so bad, and my heart is beating fast.

"Please..." I kept whispering to myself

I was trying to recover his heartbeat, but things weren't easy as it seems. I was scared. I have never been this scared all my life. I am not scared for myself, I am scared for Felix.

All of a sudden the heart rate of Felix's Mom went straight which made everyone stop.

"Minho!" the doctor shouted at me as he tried to wake me up from getting frozen after seeing Felix's Mom

Tears kept falling...

"Time of death, 10:54 am" the doctor announced and Mrs. Lee was covered in white blanket

"Dr. Lee!" the nurses called when the heart rate monitor started making a sound that I am scared of...

I was panicking while trying to-

It went straight...

I lost my strength and tears started falling again.

"Dr. Lee, you have to announce his time of death." the nurse told me

"T-Time of death, 10:55 am."

He was covered in white blanket.

"Let's all pay them with respect for the last time." head doctor said

We all bowed.

"Dr. Lee..." the doctor who was trying to recover Mrs. Lee

"I failed. I failed to save the King's Father. I failed to save my friend's Father. I failed to save someone's Father." I cried

"It wasn't your fault, Minho. They were actually announced dead on arrival, but... I saw you. I saw how much you wanted to save them, to save your friend's parents." he said and tapped my shoulder and then he left

"Doc, reporters kept trying to break in!" nurse told the head doctor

"Tell the securities to make sure no one will go inside." he told the nurse

Felix, I am sorry.

I failed to save your parents. I am sorry.

"Minho, what happened?" Seungmin asked

"I failed to save them." I cried even more

He bowed to them and I can hear his small sobs, "We will take care of Felix, your majesties."

"Seungmin, I failed." I whispered and kept crying

He gave me a hug and whispered, "You did your best. You did your part. It wasn't your fault at all-"

He stopped when Felix entered emergency room and tears started falling as he walked slowy towards his parents.

"Mom... Dad..." he whispered while crying

"Felix, I am sorry. I couldn't save them. I am sorry."

He didn't answer me and continued crying.

"Let's go." Seungmin said and guided me out of the emergency room

We saw our friends, and even Chaerin. They were all
crying as well. I leaned on the wall and continued crying.

Chaerin appeared in front of me and smiled, "Minho, you did your best. We know you wanted to save them, but it's too impossible. They were announced dead on arrival already."

"I was outside, Chaerin. It was just seconds after they announced dead on arrival. If only I moved faster and helped I-"

"Ssshhh... It was not your fault. You did your best. We are proud of you." she said

All we can hear is Felix calling his Mom and Dad while crying...

I failed to save them.
