Felix's POV

It was indeed a very good morning to me.

"Does all of the flowers in my garden looks like it bloomed?"

"Your majesty, it's not even blooming yet." my sub assistant said, who is in charge until my original assistant come back

"Really? It looks like it bloomed already."

Last night, it felt so real. I heard it from her, she cared for me as Chaerin, not some doctor who is in charge to my care. It was not even what I was expecting to hear from her.

I was shocked to see her there, looking like a mess, and to find out that she went there in a rush because of me. She thought I was in danger. Can I be more happy? It may not look like it, but I think there is a chance between me and Chaerin.

"Your majesty, the food is ready." sub assistant said

"I'll be there in a few minutes."

He bowed and left my office.

I wanted to take Chaerin home but she refused and told me to go home instead. I know it's not because she doesn't want me to, but because she doesn't want Hyunjin to see us and get the wrong idea. Was it wrong for me to be selfish? And choose to be with Chaerin instead of caring about their relationship?

I had her first.

I went to the kitchen and saw my parents there. They were already eating without me, which is really normal.

"What happened last night?" Father asked

"It was not that serious. The rider was hurt so bad, my assistant is fine. I took care of the bill. I talked to both of them, and it seems fine."

"Okay. I thought something bad really happened. I'm glad they are both fine." Mother said

"The articles went crazy, they kept sharing stories that it was you who got into an accident. I don't even know how to tell them since they won't listen to me." Father said

"It's my business to deal with, Dad. Don't stress yourself over that matter. I'll take care of it."

We were finally eating our dessert when I noticed all the maids were standing, waiting for us to finish the food.

"I guess you all should take a day off."

All eyes suddenly darted towards my direction, like I said something wrong.

"You repeat it." Father said

"Take a day off, everyone."

"Are you really Felix?" Father jokingly asked and checked on my face

"Dad. I just wanted everyone to rest. There's nothing to do anyways. The mansion is clean already. What's there to worry about? Besides, it's a one day, day off."

"You all heard the cute master." Father said and chuckled

"Dad."

"Sorry." Father laughed

"You all should take a day off." Mother smiled at them

Everyone bowed in unison and left the dining room.

"I'll just take a day off too." Mother said and left the dining room, leaving me and Dad alone

"So, what's with the good mood, Felix?" Father asked

"Chaerin and I had the chance to talk last night. She rushed to the hospital thinking I got into an accident. She hugged me as she was relieved, and it came from her that she cared for me truly."

"Felix, I am not trying to kill the joy that is happening, but Chaerin is married to your friend. Your close friend. She is happily married. I understand you are happy now, but you are a public image. One wrong move is the end of you. Everyone will think oh the king is having an affair with a married woman. Felix, I am not stopping you but be careful." Father smiled at me and left

Am I really not going to have the chance to be with her?

I went to the garden right after I ate, it was no ordinary day, indeed. It was the day I need to think about the next move I will make.

"Felix!" Jisung called

"Good noon, your majesty." Chan greeted as he went towards me with Jisung

"Is the guard at the gate new here? He doesn't know us." Jisung said

"Yeah. I hired a few people."

"Oh. That explains why he doesn't want us to enter the gate. Good thing, the maid saw us and talked to him." Jisung

"How are you?" Chan asked me

"Good. More than good. It was no ordinary day because something happened last night. An extraordinary one."

"Must be about Chaerin." Jisung

"Yeah."

"Let me remind you, Felix. Chaerin is married to Hyunjin. Your friend." Chan said

"What are you saying?"

"I know you still have feelings for her. It's obvious. Please, let's not ruin anything here." Chan reminded me

"I am just enjoying. I am not going to ruin them."

"Good to know then." Chan

Jisung opened his phone as he received a notification. His eyes widened as he opened the notification.

"What?"

"What the fuck? Open your phone!" Jisung said while panicking

I opened my phone, thinking it was an article about me and Chaerin. But I was wrong when I opened it. It was about Hyunjin.

The lawyer who is friends with the King was seen in the bar making out with a girl who is somehow connected to the King...

Then after a long caption, it showed a picture of Hyunjin

...making out with Sangmi.

What will Chaerin feel now?
