Chaerin's POV

"Chaerin." Felix called me

I snapped out of my imagination and what ifs...

"We're here." he said

"Thank you so much."

"No worries. Make sure that you'll rest." Felix smiled at me

"You too. Thank you."

I got out of his car and watched his car drove away.

My imagination that what if I didn't call Felix? Am I going to die? Will things be different? Will Hyunjin find out? Those what ifs... I am so scared. I don't want to die.

I went inside the inside the house and saw Hyunjin sitting on the couch and was staring somewhere. Like he is in deep thoughts.

"Hyunjin."

He looked at me, "Chae-"

"I am sorry it took me so long to go home."

He didn't talk.

"I'm sorry it took me so long. Minho and I swapped our duties, he did the heart transplant because for some reason I can't do it. I did his duties the whole night and at the same time I did my duties to my patients. I was about to go home but my car stopped working. I don't want to bother you or anyone, I decided to take a cab in the highway. Hyunjin... I almost died."

He looked at me.

"A man was following me the whole time I was walking to the highway. I-I was so scared. I sent you a message and tried calling you but there was no reply nor you answered my calls. I called Felix instead and he answered as soon as possible. He heard me crying for help and was running for my life. He was there. He arrived. He helped me. If he didn't, I was probably shot. I'm sorry I was late."

"I know." he said

That stopped me.

"You knew? You read my messages? How come you didn't reply? How come you didn't answer my calls?"

"Chaerin... I was there." his voice broke

Huh?

"What do you mean?"

"I arrived before Felix. I was there before him. I was going to help you but... it was too late. Police officers arrived and that's when Felix arrived." Hyunjin

I was quiet.

"I didn't reply to your message and calls because I was tracking you. I was trying to find you. I was panicking. I got scared to lose you, Chaerin." Hyunjin sighed

"Hyunjin."

"And what's the use? Felix was there anyway." he chuckled

"Hyunjin, it could've been you instead of Felix."

He smiled.

"What's happening to you? You've been acting so weird. I don't understand why you kept avoiding and ignoring me for days. Hyunjin. Please. Is there something wrong?"

"There's no problem at all, Chaerin." he said in a calm voice

We were silent for a few minutes. No one was talking. His eyes were closed and I was staring at him trying to see what he will do. But he was just silent.

All of a sudden, he stood up and walked towards me with his hands in his pocket. He stared into my eyes and he tuck my hair behind my ear.

"Chaerin, if I was the guy you first met and not Felix. Would things be different?" he asked

And that confused me even more.

"Are you acting like this because of Felix? There was nothing going on between me and Felix. I respect you so much and our relationship."

"I was just curious." he chuckled

"Hyunjin, please-"

"I am sorry for what happened to us." Hyunjin

"What are you sorry for? You didn't do anything wrong."

"After we lost our baby, I am sorry for not being there for you. I am sorry for not being strong like how I am supposed to. I am sorry for being weak and hurt. I am sorry for what happened afterwards. I can't blame you if you would always compare me with Felix... I know Felix would do better if he was in that situation." Hyunjin smiled

"Hyunjin, what is happening?"

"I want to thank you for staying with me all throughout our relationship and marriage. I am so glad I met you and spent days with you. Believe me or nor, I was the happiest when I see your face every morning." he added

I stayed silent... and hurt.

"Felix, should've told you. I cheated on you with Sangmi. Although I don't remember what happened because of pain and alcohol. I found out that I kissed Sangmi and it was in the article. Felix took it down to protect our relationship, and for me to tell you personally." Hyunjin

He cheated?

"Chaerin, I can't see you everyday without remembering that moment. The more I see you, the more guilt I feel. It was fucking messed up. I am sorry. I am really sorry." Hyunjin

"You didn't want that to happen-"

"And I also had the chance to tell you as soon as possible but I didn't." he smirked

"Hyunjin."

"I will not go home for a few days. I don't know until when... but yeah. I won't be here with you." Hyunjin

"You don't have to leave. This is your home too, please."

He hugged me as tight as he can and whispered, "Thank you, Chae..."

"Hyunjin. Please. Don't leave me."

"I was the happiest person when you said yes to my proposal, our wedding, and to be with me." Hyunjin

"Hyunjin." I called once again

"I was the happiest person when I am with you but I can't bear the pain anymore... I am sorry." his voice broke
