Third person's POV

"Ahn Chaerin, can we talk?" King asked her

Chaerin suddenly felt nervous and felt uneasy. This was the first time that she felt strongly nervous from the King. She is comfortable with him but what is happening now? It feels like there is something wrong going on.

"Yes, your highness" she answered

Although she was hesitating and feeling nervous, she followed him. They both went inside his office. She watched the King sit on the swivel chair and she suddenly looked away when the King faced her direction. She even forgot to bow to the King as soon as she saw her due to nervousness.

She bowed "What do you want to talk about, your highness?"

"I saw you and Felix outside. I am not gonna scold you for that. You are doing your job as his personal assistant and you both deserve to spend time with each other. I admire how you two love each other despite of knowing the possibilities and consequences" King smiled as he admire the young couple "As I have told you. I am not against you and the Prince. I am happy and will support you two no matter what happens. I know there will be consequences if everyone will heard that the future King will marry someone who is not on thr same level as him. I don't want to offend you and if you ever felt offended, I apologize" he bowed

She smile sweetly "It's fine, your highness. I am expecting that you will say about it"

"Felix talked to me earlier and he told me about you two. I just love how he smile whenever he talks about you and how happy he is whenever he sees you. I can't imagine him being so happy because of a girl who changed his life, but now I can see it clearly with my own eyes. He talked to me and then suddenly opened up about a sensitive topic that he never opened up before" King said

Chaerin felt worried "What is it, your highness?"

"Prince Felix doesn't want to take over the spot I have. He said he wanted to live a normal life with you, away from all the media, away from people looking up on him and away from the palace. He never disappointed me before and he would always do his best to make me proud as he will take over my spot. I thought Felix meeting you is a good idea but hearing those words. He disappointed me big time. He is willing to turn his back on our country for you, Chaerin" King

Chaerin felt uncomfortable and uneasy as he heard such. That Felix is willing to turn his back on everyone, even his own family just for her. She never wanted any of this to happen but it is now happening.

"I told him that you two can live together and marry, he just have to take over my spot. He doesn't want to. He still wants to live a normal life with you. I won't blame him for that because I know he is tired of being part of the royal family. But... He is the only heiress. He is the only one I trust. Felix is the only one I know that can possibly run this country and take care of its people" King said

She doesn't know what to say anymore. She wants to talk but she can't. She felt like it was her fault that Felix is suddenly doing everything. She never thought it'll be this complicated for the both of them.

King handed her the document he received about the agreement he did 7 yeard ago "I had an agreement of making Felix marry the daughter of my friend whom I own a lot. That time, I am about to go down and lose everything. That time, Felix's Mom needs a lot of money for her operation and everything. I did everything I can. I was so desperate to save his Mom, because he wants to see her again. My friend gave me all the help I need in exchange of letting the Prince marry his daughter. I don't want it to happen but I can't let the Queen die"

"D-Does Felix knew about this?" Chaerin asked as her eyes darted to the document

King shook his head "He still doesn't know and please don't ever tell him that I talked to you. I want him to take over and turn this agreement down. I don't have any power to reject this agreement now, but he Felix has the power once he take over. It looks like he is really decided to live with you alone. I just don't know how to figure things out. That's why I want to talk to you so bad"

"W-What do you want me to do, your highness?" Chaerin asked

She already knew what the Kings wants her to do. She knew and she is not stupid to not figure out. She is aware of things but she is hoping that the King won't say such. She is hoping that the King will change his mind and help them.

She is hoping.

"Can you leave Felix?" King asked

It echoed on her mind over and over again...

She lost her strength and froze...

She lost her voice to say no...

He said it.

He already said it.

Her high hopes suddenly fell down...

It's finally a goodbye.
