Fearless

"Ano? Gusto mo na mag set ako ng appointment sa Villareal?"- kunot ang noo na tanong sa akin ni lolo.

Ngumiti naman ako at tumango. Nag puppy eyes pa nga ako pero napailing lamang ito.

"Her sudden appearance caused big commotion in the business industry.Everyone was afraid of her."

"Kahit po kayo takot?"

He chuckled. "Of course not. I just want you to know that setting up a meeting with her at this kind of time is impossible because she's busy dealing with different interviews."

"E di next time."

Humalumbaba ako pero tinignan lang ako ng kakaiba ni lolo kaya napalunok ako dahil baka may hint na sya kung bakit gusto kong ma meet ang babaeng yon.

"Why are you so eager to meet her? I remembered five years ago, you asked me about them as well."

I laugh to hide my nervousness. 

"I was just curious, and don't you have any interest in merging?"

"Merging?"

"Yes, between the Spencers and Villareal. Both companies will gain something in return. We'll be more powerful. And they will have more recognition because Spencer's is a flashy name."

Natameme ako ng biglang tumawa ng malakas si lolo. Umalingaw ngaw iyon sa kabuuan ng office nya at seryoso akong tinignan.

"Ang dami mong sinabi. Bakit hindi mo nalang ni direct to the point na gusto mo may mangyaring arrange marriage?"

My cheeks redden. "I.. I'm not talking about m-marriage."

Partnership lang naman yung point ko ah. Pero bakit kasi merge yung word na naisip kong sabihin?

"Kung usapan kasal, pwede kong maging candidate si Primo. Gwapong bata iyon at matalino pa, walang makaka hindi duon."

Napakuyom ako ng kamay pero ngumiti pa din ako kay lolo.

"Maganda din naman po ako at matalino. At saka masyado pang bata si Primo para pumasok sa kasal."

Tumawa na naman sya at inayos ang salamin nya.

"I guess your parents don't know about your gender preference, don't they?"

I gulped and couldn't find the right words to say.

Wala talagang paligoy ligoy itong si lolo. Paano pa kaya kung buhay pa si lola? Edi lalo akong na hot seat.

"You like her, right?"

"I.."

He nodded his head without even letting me finish my words. 

"I understand. But do tell your parents first, especially your father. He's kind of overreacting sometimes."

"Lolo, I don't like her! I was just curious and wanted to be friends with her." - I said I was trying to prove a point, but I ended up sounding defensive.

Hindi ko sya gusto kasi mahal ko po sya.

"Okay. You may take your leave now," - he said, sounding sarcastic. 

Aish! This old man is a tease. 

Tumayo nalang ako at diretsong lumabas ng office nya.

Napabuntong hininga ako at napasuklay sa buhok ko.
