We had been like this for whole minutes, and I squeezed him even more, it was certainly not easy to bear all the bruises that marked his heart. I wanted him to feel all my affection, I whispered to him 

-It's all right- I too had been beaten as a child, that was why I had run away from home, but he had been done worse, his dignity had been taken away and any small form of happiness he could have had, they bullied, bullied and abused him. And how can we call them human? They are monsters, no matter what their motives were. Felix was fragile, like a china doll, like a piece of crystal, but that just meant he needed more care.

An hour later we were on either side of the glass table strewn with sheets with all the hypotheses of escape plans written on it.

I prepared a dinner of white rice, succulent steak and salad, and there was no better stuff than that. There was an inviting smell in the kitchen that I would defy any living soul not to mistake me for an Italian chef. All the dishes were arranged neatly on the black kitchen table, surrounding the plate, cutlery and glass. Felix sat down and from his eyes I could see all the fear he was trying to hide.

-Felix, you can do it- He nodded and took the chopsticks, his hand was shaking but after a few seconds he managed to take some rice and bring it to his mouth. Okay, first bite completed

-Do you want to try and taste the steak? You will like it a lot-

He cut it up and tried to eat it, his eyes lit up and he looked at me in ecstasy

-Did you cook it yourself? It's very good!-

Okay, it was the right time to surpass his record, I went over and sat down in front of him and rested my chin on the palm of my hand. I looked at him and smiled. He was thin, like a bare twig, with skeletal hands and bony arms. the only thing that seemed to keep his original shape was his face, sprinkled with freckles over her pale skin. He was unique.

Felix chewed another mouthful, everything was going well and he was breaking his record, and then another one too.

-You broke your record, how do you feel?-

-W-well I think...-

-Can you eat...something else?-

-I think not, b-but I can try-

Now his hand was shaking a lot more than before, he was scared, he took another piece of steak and introduced into the mouth. Her eyes got watery, she was on edge, she swallowed it

-Where is the toilet?-Shit, I wasn't going to let him vomit, not even in a dream, he needed food

I got up and went to him, the only solution to stop him was precisely, block him. Then I hugged him, wrapped my arms around his waist and whispered:

-Everything is alright-

-N-no, I really need to go to the bathroom-

-I won't let you throw up the little you just ate, take some deep breaths, it's okay-

He followed my advice, inhaled, and exhaled. I didn't mean to break that hug, he needed affection.

-You did great, you surpassed your record. Are not you happy?-

-Y-yes-

I started drawing imaginary lines on his back with my hand to calm him, I could feel his bones, even through the fabric of the olive green hoodie. I held him tighter to me and our bodies were locked together. I heard him cry, and tried to calm him down.

-Everything is alright-

His body was shaking, he was so weak, he'd always needed someone by his side, but no one ever came, they've always been against him, for no reason. He deserved more, much more.
