Bundle Of Joy - Daniel Ricciardo

"I'm gunna be sick" you mumble while holding your belly, Daniel's arm is around you while rushing towards his driver's room. "Almost there lovely" he replies soothingly but you just whimper as he finally opens the correct door. Your stomach lurches so you surge forward towards the nearest rubbish bin, emptying the contents of your stomach into it. Daniel rubs your back after tying your hair in a loose bun to keep it out of your face. "It's going to be okay Y/N" he murmurs quietly but you're too focused on getting rid of the sick feeling in your belly.

A couple of dry heaves later you sit back while sighing. "Better?" you nod and let him pull you closer while brushing his fingers along your spine. "I'm sorry for taking you away from your job" you mumble quietly, "nothing to apologize for darling, I would do anything to make sure you're okay" Daniel replies then kisses your head. "Love you" he squeezes you gently, "love you" you smile and trace the visible tattoos on his arms. "When do you want to tell everyone?" you tilt your head up to look into his dark eyes, "end of the season?" he nods then sighs, "I should get back before Lando says something stupid" you laugh and Daniel helps you up to your feet. "See you later Y/N" you give him a thumbs up and smile, he winks then leaves you alone in the room. You clean up your mess before stepping back into the commotion of the race weekend, giving people reassuring smiles as you venture back towards the paddock for some fresh air.

Later you end up waiting in McLaren hospitality for Daniel to be done his media duties. You don't realize that your hand is resting on your barely there baby bump while waiting around. "You alright Y/N?" the voice makes you turn your head, smiling when you see Sophie, Daniel's media manager, watching you with concern. "I'm great" she smiles then you notice how her eyes flick down making you do the same, your eyes widening before you drop your hand from your belly. "Was worried when you rushed through with Dan" you shrug then avoid her eyes, "must've eaten something bad" she lifts an eyebrow, "mhmm that's probably it" you give her a quick smile but thankfully someone calls for her before she can ask anymore questions about your behaviour.

"There's my baby" you spin around at the sound of Daniel's voice. He brings you into a hug so you melt into him, "you did good out there" he hums in response making you smile. "I think Sophie is onto us though" he pulls back with raised eyebrows, "she was here before you, I was holding my small bump, which I never realize I'm doing, and she asked if I was okay after the whole sick moment earlier" he smiles then places a hand on your bump, "I mean she's always around us so it's kinda hard not to realize" you shake your head and he presses a kiss to your lips. You smile into the embrace, breaking it almost instantly, "I can't wait to meet our kid" he mumbles, you nod then kiss his cheek, "let's head back" he smiles and takes your hand to lead you to the venue exit.

Weeks pass and it's suddenly Daniel's last visit to the MTC before taking a hiatus. He's holding your hand tightly as the two of you walk through the large building. "Ready for this?" He asks, you squeeze his hand and smile, "definitely ready" you reply making his worried expression melt away. You take the time to have one last look around the building, stopping Daniel in front of his Monza trophy for a few seconds. "I'll always remember that day" you mumble then look at the Aussie, who looks near tears, "it's proof of how hard I worked" he says while looking at you, "you still work hard Dan, that's never gonna stop" he nods and continues to lead you to where you're meant to say one last goodbye to everyone.

Once the two of get to the prearranged spot where tons of McLaren employees are gathered you can't help but place a hand on your growing belly. "Don't be nervous baby, they're gonna be so happy" you smile up at Daniel and he kisses your head while holding your free hand tightly. He starts with tons of goodbyes and thank yous to everyone before pulling you in closer, "the last thing we want to tell all of you is that we're gonna be parents in a couple of months" there's a silence but it's quickly broken by cheers. You blush at the excited reaction and curl into Daniel who moves his hand to your lower back. "You're gonna be an amazing mum" you smile into the Aussie's chest, "you're going to be a spectacular dad" you don't see the grin that is sure to be on his face, feeling thankful for his love and support through everything, looking forward to when you get to meet the kid that is a bit of you and Daniel.
