Chapter 52

I don't know how Zen didn't scream, but Zalgo had stabbed him in the chest to the point the tip of the blade was sticking out behind his back.

My mouth flew open as I felt my chest tightening up. Tears fell uncontrollably.

"Zen!" I screamed at the top of my lungs but it sounded muffled through my ears.

Zalgo pulled out his sword, throwing Zen a couple of yards away.. I limped as I made my way to Zen while applying pressure to my wound. All of a sudden, I was able to hear again.

I dropped to my knees as my lips quivered at the sight of him. He had a hole in his chest and the leaves underneath him were stained with blood.

"Zen, I'm so sorry!" I cried as I shut my eyes. "If only I-"

He touched my knee in comfort. He was the one who was dying yet he was comforting me. How pathetic must I be?

"I don't want to die being the villain in your story." He gasped as he moved his hand to my cheek. I placed my hand on top of his, knowing what he was going to do.

He shared with me his memories including the ones that he was forced to steal from me.

I saw how he met Slenderman, how he killed my parents, how he made a deal with Zalgo to keep me alive, how he refused to carry out Zalgo's plans, and more importantly, how he saved me in the end.

Zen quickly opened the door before running down the stairs. His blood ran cold as he saw her unconscious body on the blood-stained floor. His heart broke once he inspected her back.

"What the hell did he do to you!" He cried as he carefully hugged her body. "I didn't want this to happen!" He yelled as he picked her up.

She couldn't stay in the under realm any longer. He had to bring her back to the mansion no matter the consequences. He can only hope the pastas would protect her and make sure Zalgo couldn't reach her. Slenderman appeared to change his perspective of her so maybe there was hope for her now.

He teleported with her in his arms to the real world. Only he and Zalgo had this ability. He gently dropped her to the ground, placing a small kiss on her head as his tear fell on her cheek.

"I'm so sorry, Y/N This is all my fault. I hope you can forgive me." He glanced at her before knocking furiously on the door. She only had a matter of time yet he couldn't heal her because Slenderman would know. He teleported back to the forest, far enough to see who would open the door.

He sighed in relief when he saw Splendor pick her up. He knew she was in good hands.

I widened my eyes as I took all of the memories in. I looked at him in disbelief despite the fact I was crying.

"I-I don't understand. Why would you risk yourself for me? Why am I so important to you!"

He smiled as he used his thumb to caress my cheek. He showed me the final conversation he had with my dad, causing me to widen my eyes.

"Because you're my biological sister, silly."

He closed his eyes as his head dropped to the side, his hand falling to the ground.

"Zen!" I screamed as I hugged his corpse tighter. "No, you can't leave me!" I closed my eyes wishing this was all a nightmare.

"I'm so sorry!" I wailed. "I didn't know!"

I felt his body getting lighter which made me look at him. His legs were slowly turning into golden dust and soon his whole body would be too.

"NO! STOP!" I yelled as I hugged him tighter, hoping it would stop his body from turning. Unfortunately, it didn't and soon his whole body disappeared, making me hug myself.

"ZEN!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, not caring if it echoed throughout the forest.

The pastas heard the pain in my voice. Although they knew nothing about him, they still felt sympathy for me. I had never broken down in front of them, so this new sight scared them.

"I'm surprised he just told you, you were siblings. I figured that since the beginning I saw you." Zalgo laughed.

I ignored him as I was hyperventilating. He enjoyed the view he was getting.

"Death is a gift of fate, don't you think so darling?"

I slowly got up and clenched my teeth. I slowly glared at him, with my eyes still watery as I held another dagger tighter in my hand.

"You fucking killed him." I spatted.

"I'm well aware of my actions. I should have done that ages ago." He crossed his arms in front of his chest. "But he was the key to getting to you."

"You're going to fucking pay!"

He grinned as he brought his arms out. "Then go for it, I'm right here, love."

I was sick and tired of losing. He won multiple battles and now, it was time for me to end the war once and for all.

This was just the beginning of an end.
