He stayed silent as I slowly walked in front of him, not breaking eye contact.
"You're pathetic," I spat before walking past him. Just as I was about to leave the room I turned my head to the side. "If you follow me, I won't hesitate to kill you. Mark my words Slenderman."
Once I was out, I slammed the door shut and proceeded to walk through the hall.
I couldn't stay here any longer. I had to leave and take matters into my own hands. I couldn't rely on Slenderman to kill Zalgo. I was determined to fulfill my destiny.
Ben came out of the living room and saw me heading toward him. "Y/N's awake!" He announced to the others.
"She has been for a while," E.J added as he barely went downstairs.
I ignored them both as I headed towards the door. I was a couple of feet away when Slenderman appeared behind me.
"Y/N, you can't leave."
I turned around to look at him and saw the pastas coming out of the living room and the Slender brothers on top of the stairway.
I smirked. "Now that everyone is here, why don't you tell them how you wanted to kill us all in the end?"
Masky looked at the other two proxies. "I thought we already went through this?"
Back when I was under Zalgo's influence, we had brought this up. The pastas defended him, not realizing he was quiet for a reason.
"You guys answered for him, he didn't say anything," I reminded them as I glared at Slenderman.
"Y/N, stop." He begged.
"No Slenderman! They deserve to know the truth!"
Slenderman looked at the ground in shame. He couldn't keep his secret any longer.
"I did, but that was before I realized-"
The pastas groaned at his response. They were frustrated that they were lied to as well. They all had defended him only to find out it was a lie.
"Let's not forget how you didn't tell them immortality didn't work in the under realm and you lied to us when you said Zalgo would die with a stab in the heart."
The slender brother looked at each other with disappointed expressions. They knew this was going to happen sooner or later. Slenderman's army had begun to fall starting with me.
I was about to twist the doorknob when Slenderman said something I never expected. Something my younger self dreamt of hearing for years.
"I love you, Y/N. You can't leave us."
I stared at the door as I remembered all those times he would yell and punish me for my mistakes back when I was younger. He wanted to turn me into an emotionless machine that did all his dirty work. There was no way I was going to forgive him this easily.
"It took you longer than with Sally to realize that." I turned my head to look at him while I still held the door knob with my hand. "Funny how you were afraid I was going to follow your previous proxy's footsteps. I hope you're happy you lost your first two proxies due to your mistakes."
Sally came out from behind Splendor with her eyes watery. I softened my gaze when I saw her. As much as I wanted to bring her with me, I knew I couldn't. I couldn't steal her happiness away nor did I want to endanger her.
"I'm so sorry Sal. I hope one day you'll understand why I did this and you're able to forgive me."
I twisted the doorknob and left without looking at their expressions. I couldn't or else I would be tempted to stay.
It was wrong for me to leave but it had to be done. I wasn't going to put them in danger so that I could kill Zalgo. I wasn't like Slenderman.
This battle would be different. I was now prepared for whatever Zalgo was going to hit me with. The only difference was, he wasn't going to succeed this time. I was going to make sure of it.
Slenderman stared at the door before looking at his brothers in the stairway.
Trender sighed as he shook his head. "We told you this was bound to happen, brother."
"Never mind that. You wanted to kill us at the beginning!" Jeff exclaimed.
"Good thing you didn't find me," Dark muttered to Ben.
"It all changed once Y/N left for her mission." Slender tried to reason. "When we thought she died, I realized I couldn't stand the thought of losing you guys."
"That still doesn't explain what she meant by the first two proxies." Masky pointed out.
Slenderman snapped his head towards his brothers. Something had been bothering him ever since she had mentioned it.
"You don't think she's been talking to him, do you?"
The brothers looked at each other while Splendor avoided his gaze. He knew something he didn't want to admit. At least, not now.
Slenderman was about to say something but immediately felt shivers run up his spine. He turned his gaze at the door as fear struck in.
"Slendy, what's wrong?" Trenderman asked, noticing his movements.
"Zalgo is here."
