I move through the hallways of the building, ignoring the open bedroom doors on the ground floor as I ascend the stairs. Once coming to the door to the room I attempted to sleep in last night, I see Yoongi waiting at the door with his arms crossed.
A serious gaze, yet confused one, crosses his face when watching me step closer to him.
"What?" I remark, a bit annoyed at this point. I already woke up negatively. The least I need is another one of Yoongi's lectures about how I should act around this place.
"You shouldn't have wandered off on your own, Vee." I push past him and walk into the small room where he follows me inside. "Jimin came to me a little earlier and explained you couldn't sleep. If you couldn't, why didn't you wake me? I could've stayed awake with you."
I shake my head to stop him from saying more.
"You were sleeping too good for me to wake you up. Besides, I needed to be left alone for a while. If it caused a problem, I won't roam around anymore." Taken off guard by how calmly I'm responding, he looks confused.
"Okay," he lets the Y drag out of the word as if completely shocked by how well I'm taking this. "Anyway, Acid came by early and dropped off some clothes for you. I laid them on the table and went back to sleep." He admits, directing his head to some clothes which are folded up neatly on the brown tabletop.
"Why bring me clothes?" I stare at the pile.
"Maybe she thought you reeked and needed a fresh, clean pair. Either way, if you can wear them, I would. Your face is already known, but at least when you leave, don't be wearing the same clothes you were in when the police labeled you on their target list."
He walks across the room, taking hold of the doorknob. "You should get changed; I'll be outside so no one comes in. Take your time." He sounds cool and collected, but I know it's an act to help me take a moment and breathe.
Coming to the clothes, I take off mine and slip on the newer pair which seem to fit me almost perfectly. Once I'm done, I head to the door to let Yoongi back inside.
"I'm done, Yoongi—" I stop talking once I swing the door open, seeing not Yoongi standing at the door but Ghost instead. His long black hair and mischievous smile take me off guard instantly.
"I told him to get something to eat." Ghost says, walking into the room. "I've heard you're one of the new recruits,"
"I wouldn't say recruit. I'm not built for dangerous situations." I admit, fighting for my life when his dark eyes entangle with mine unexpectedly.
"I see," he says with a shushed tone. "I'm aware of your position here, and so is everyone else. You won't be given any mercy while living here. If you plan to leave because you're not built for situations involving danger, I suggest when you head out with Jungkook later on that you don't return. Everyone who lives here knows the risks of being a part of our cause, so if you return, be prepared to lose anything at any cost like the rest of us."
When I don't have anything to say, he smiles, almost enjoying the torment he's giving me.
"I came by to wish you luck on your first mission with Jungkook. Although I know of his motives, you'll be asked to help him with a mission tonight before you return. If you can't live up to my expectations, I will gladly drop you off at the police station myself—"
"Why are you being such a dick?" Despite not knowing him, I can't help from speaking my honest feelings at the moment.
"Don't act innocent. I know all about you, Vee. Taehyung gave me all the information I needed about you last night. I know you're a good girl." A sudden memory flashes across my mind from watching out of the window last night in the kitchen. So it was Ghost and Taehyung. "I'm not denying you don't have a little wildness in you, after all, you did come here. However, this place isn't a see it and leave it one. I expect you to prove yourself before you return, and Jungkook will be the one testing you tonight on your mission. So good luck because I know you'll need it."
With his mocking tone, he exits the room with confidence radiating off of him. I stare hard at the door, continuously thinking about his attitude the whole time he was here.
Although there's not much behind his threats, I still can't afford to leave this place so soon, especially without money of my own. I'll need to figure something out before tonight, or else I won't have anywhere safe to go.
A hard knock comes to the door when I lose my thoughts and call out for whoever it is to come in, but they don't.
"It's Jungkook. I'll be downstairs waiting near the front door. Come find me when you're ready, and hurry, we're losing daylight." When I hear his footsteps fade, I take a moment to understand my situation, and once I control my nerves, I exit the room where I make my way in the direction of Jungkook.
Although I don't know what mission Ghost was talking about, I know it can't be good when I spot the colorful spray paint cans in Jungkook's hands.

I have put up face claims in the BYR section! Since I've already had a few people mention it to me over the past week or so, I decided to try something new and add some faces to the original characters! I hope doing this can make your reading experience much better! 💜💜💜
