What is going on?

Grinch walked to us and a look of surprise flashed in his eyes but that was gone almost instantly and the girl ran towards him and engulfed him in a hug.
And Vidit accepted her hug as well.

"Oh my god how long has it been since I saw you! You don't even call me or text me! Anything Vidit?" She said in a shrill voice.

He's on his phone 24 by 7.

A waiter approached me and said "Ma'am your order has been served."
I nodded and went to the table and saw Shriya and Yash eating from the same bowl.
