Anna and Chris's wedding was so beautiful, I cried. The week I spent here was full of love and nostalgia. It felt like forever since we had all been together and Anna deciding to have the wedding on a beach was the getaway we all needed.

Things got even better when Liam agreed to come with me and I was over the moon watching him get along with all of my friends. I had assumed things would be weird, and that might have been true at first, but once everyone had gotten to know Liam, it was smooth sailing from there.

The wedding reception was almost over. Anna and Chris had already headed off on their cruise. Only a few of us were left behind.

Liam grabs my waist as he spins me into him on the dance floor.

"Would you like to go for a walk?" He whispers in my ear.

I nod in agreement even though my legs are tired from having to stand for the better part of the day.

We head out to the beach, the salty evening air brushing against my skin. I slip my heels off, and let my feet sink into the sand, filtering between my toes as we walk. Liam rests his arm on my shoulder, pulling me closer as we walk.

"I'm a little sad we're leaving tomorrow," I stare at the horizon.

"We can stay. If you want."

I shake my head no. "I also want to go home. It's a predicament," I laugh.

Liam's face gets a bit tense and he pulls me to a stop.

"I have to talk to you about something," he speaks, his expression inscrutable.

I feel my stomach sink down. "Is everything okay?"

"Yes. Yes. Everything is great. At least I hope it will be..." He looks at me nervously.

There is visible confusion on my face that I'm sure he notices. He shakes his head, his expression changing to that of determination as he reaches for his pocket.

Before I can comprehend what's going on, he is on his knee, a small, blue, velvet box in hand.

I gasp in shock as he pulls it open, a large diamond resting in the silk folds. "Liam..." I trail off.

Growing up with humans, like any little girl, I too, had dreamt about getting married to the love of my life one day. But I knew werewolves didn't have this concept. To them, the mate-bond was even more sacred than marriage. So the last thing I had expected Liam to do, was this.

"April, werewolves don't usually get married. To me, you're my soulmate. You have been from the moment you bumped into me," he chuckles softly, the sound like wind chimes in the air.

"I love every single thing about you. Including the part of you that's human and the life you have outside our world. You became a part of my world and now I want to do the same. So April Jennings, will you please marry me?"

By now, I have tears streaming down my face.

"I'm getting kind of tired of you introducing me as your boyfriend."

I laugh with him through the tears.

"Yes, Liam. Of course I will marry you," I drop down into my knees and engulf him into a hug, sniffling into his hair.

Once I pull away, he reaches for my hand and smoothly glides the ring onto my finger. I stare at it in disbelief.

"I love you so much," I whisper as I pull him in, his lips crashing into mine, like the waves crashing onto the shore. On this beautiful place, where we start off the rest of our lives.
