Chapter 13

The bell rang, it's infuriating shrill surrounding the room around madison, disturbing her from her day dream as she sat quietly at her table in her once quiet classroom.

"Come on wakey wakey sleepy head." Jack said loudly in her ear. She looked at him in disgust as she clutched onto her ears for dear life, as the infernal ringing took over her. He looked casual in a softly checkered grey and white button up shirt and some casual black jeans, with some black boots. His hair was messy and untamed again.

Looked absolutely dreamy today. Even more so than usual compared to her basic black jumper and Jean combo, her hair was down today in a nice change of appearance.

Madison tried to desperately pop her ears while she gave Jack a playful glare. He smirked at her.

"Jack will you stop messing around for just one moment?!"
Ella said shoving him to the side and looking down at madisons notes. "You work too hard."

Madison shrugged. "I know, I know!" She said closing the notepad and shoving it into the corner of the table. "I just I need to study to ace this test thats next week. Demture is just going ham on me and my grades recently, something about potential.  I just dunno how much more pressure I can take at the moment."

Ella sighed and sat down on the table next to her. "Then you won't like what I have to tell you..."

"What is it?" She asked worriedly.

"I talked to the chief today at break."

Madison face turned surprised. "Oh, what did he say?"

"The phones ready almost. He said it'll be done by the time we're done here." She looked at the clock. "Which would be very soon."

Madison looked to the table. Was she ready for whatever this phone held? Maybe not, but she had no choice in it this time. Time was against them and there was no chance to be consulting your feelings.

She looked around the room and saw that zara still wasn't here. She hadn't seen her since the other day and if they had any hope of solving this mystery they needed Zara with them. "Have either of you seen Zara today? I havent see her at all since that night we found out about her."

Ella and jack looked at each other and shook they're heads. "No we haven't. She better turn up soon otherwise how will we know what we find when we find it?"

"Somethings off about this whole thing." Jack said with his arms crossed over his chest.

"What do you mean Jack?" Ella asked.

"Well do you remember the rules she mentioned. Not allowed to leave heaven for ANY reason? How did she get here then?"

"Dunno, maybe some unforseen force of nature?" Ella joked.

"Im serious Ella why all of a sudden, after years of her being gone, does she suddenly turn up out of the blue and want to help solve her death?"

Madison and Ella both shurgged their shoulders. "I dunno, Jack I didn't even think this was possible." Madison said packing her bag with her note pads. She stood between the two of them and gave them an akward look as she slung her bag over her shoulder.
