"Bye guys, thanks for coming!" Madison shouted as she watched her friends climb into the car again and speed off into the night.

She quitely closed the door and made her way back upstairs where zara was waiting for her still.

"Well, that was fun!" Madison said akwardly as she swung her arms at her sides.

"If by fun you mean almost disasterous." Zara said taking a seat on the bed and 'breathing' a small sigh of relief that it was over.

Madions face fell. "Yeah, i know. But hey! They're on board so lets get down to the task of finding out how you died!"

Zara stayed silent as she watched madison bend down and pick up all the scraps of paper, full of notes, that they had been making for most of the night. Madison tried to keep a conversation flowing between them but zara just stayed quiet.

"So what do you wanna do tomorrow?" She asked. "Ellas handwriting is so much neater than Jacks, his is always so scruffy and squiggly it never makes any sence to me." She laughed. "But he does come up with some really good ideas sometimes which is probably why its so scruffy.,..oh, once he came up with this idea that all shapes that have ever been created are just made of one very long line! I mean its crazy but its a interesting consept and i think-"

"Mads!" Zara shrieked interrupting madisons rant of awkwardness. Madison turned to her and blushed furiously, realising what she had been doing.

Zara sighed. "Im sorry...i just im scared mads!" She paused, looking to madison for a responce. Madison stared at her, her face numb, but her eyes held worry and consern. "Im scared that...that im not..."

"That were not going to make it in time?" Madison asked quietly

Zara went to open her mouth, but quickly closed it again and just nodded. "Yeah...that were not going to make it on time."

Madison dropped the papers that she had gathered from the floor on the bed and sat next to Zara. "Ill do anything i can do to help you. I promise."

Zara smiled. "You know i dont belive in promises madi-boo."

"Yeah, but thats tough, cos i do."

Zara laughed. "Youre so stubborn. But i dunno what i would do without you."

"Well, i dunno if i can really comment on that now?" Zara chuckled as she rose to her feet.

"Well, i think i best be going."

"Arent you going to stay here tonight?" Madison said shocked.

"No, i cant sleep. I think ill just wonder around the neighbourhood and maybe pop in and see my mum."

"Oh wow, how are things between you two- Or how were things between you two?"

Zara shurgged. "Same old, had a big fight the night i died and shes never forgiven herself for it, but i cant do anything about it." She said, fighting to hold back her tears.

"Cant she see you too?" Zara shook her head. "Why not?"

"Its...complicated."
