"I need to tell you guys something," Ella said looking down at the ground, all three of them now standing outside of the car. Her fingers were tangled within each other and she started shuffling in place, making sure to avoid eye contact with the pair of them, madison especially. Madison and Jack looked to each other in concern then back to Ella. Her head was firmly planted towards the ground. She looked so nervous that you could see the beads of sweat starting to form across her forehead.

"What's up Ella?" jack asked. Ella swallowed hard. So hard that, If the area was any quieter, it would have echoed.

"I got a call the other day..." Madison's heart picked up speed, she didn't know why....call it intuition.

"Who called you?" she asked.

"...They said things..." Ella continued, struggling to find the words. Her eyebrows furrowed, her voice started breaking.

"Ella? What did they say?" Madison asked worriedly. She placed a gentle hand on Ella's shoulder. Ella jumped. "hey, it's okay Ella its only me," mads said gently. Jack placed his hand on her other shoulder. Ella didn't move, her head fell back down to the floor for only a moment.

Ella took a deep breath and looked to Madison with pleading eyes. "Just please don't hate me..." her voice cracked, tears now submerging her eyes and she blinked furiously to try and keep them at bay but it was too late. Madison pulled Ella into a comforting hug and stroked her hair as she sobbed into her shoulder.

"Its okay Ella you can tell me anything. You know that," Jack was stroking Ella's back soothingly. He looked at Madison and they shared a look, a look that spoke more than words could ever say, they knew in their hearts what Ella was going to say, and they didn't want to believe it.

"You wont like it...i don't want to upset you mads," Ella squeaked out as she pulled out of the hug slightly, the tears were taking control.

Madison shushed her gently. "Just get it off your chest Ella. It will help," Jack took his jacket off and wrapped it around her to keep her warm.

"The person that called me...was the chief of police..." Ella gasped out with sobs soon following. Madison held onto her tighter, stroking her head more and more in an attempt to calm her down. Jack and Madison looked to each other. Madison couldn't believe it, but yet she knew that this was coming, they both did.

"What did he say?" Madison asked, already guessing what the answer could be.

"Not something good obviously." jack said

Madison glared at jack. "Well I kind of figured that out myself, jack, funny enough."

"But Mad's it's not funny," Madison rolled her eyes at him.

"Just shut up, jack,"

"Hey, can't blame a guy for trying to make a girl laugh and stop her from crying can you?"

Ella stepped out of the hug  and smiled at jack and held his hand gently in hers. She managed to calm herself down now and her breathing was under control. She took the end of the sleeve of her jacket and dabbed her eyes dry.

"He said they found some new evidence on Akira's case... I tried to tell him to leave things be, that feelings will be brought back to the surface and that just does more damage than is actually necessary." Ella said not taking a breath.
