We both grabbed our left shoulders as we looked at each other.
"Okay, maybe the underworld won't be so bad now that we both have each other. Is there another place we can go? The dead garden with pomegranate gives me the creeps."
"There's the training room," I suggested.
"Training room you said?" He stood up with a smirk. "You gotta show me that move you pulled last night, babe."
"Zalgo is going to kill you if he hears you."
Dark shrugged his shoulders. "He's not that scary."
I raised my eyebrow as I held in my laugh.
"Okay, maybe when he's not in his true form."
(~~~)
Dark and I went to the training room after breakfast. I showed him a couple of moves he could use in battle. He was thankful considering his only ability was teleporting through screens and he excelled in sword fighting. I understood why he could have benefited us during the battle.
We were so caught up in training that I didn't realize how many hours passed. Before we knew it, dinner was already here. One of Zalgo's minions had to alert us that dinner was served on the patio.
Talking to Dark made me forget about Zalgo. I trusted him more than Zalgo despite me only knowing him for a day.
"And then I quickly grabbed Zelda and ran away. Ben was so pissed, especially after I called him a midget. It's humorous when he tries to act tough when we all know he's like barely five feet."
I laughed before looking at my half-empty plate. All of a sudden I felt light headed which made me hold onto my head.
"You're alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine," I said as I closed my eyes, getting a strong headache. "I think I'm going to bed. I must have over-exhausted myself."
"Let me accompany you! It's the least I can do after today."
And so he did. It turned out that his room was near mine. He dropped me off in my room before going to his.
As soon as I opened my room, everything worsened. The headache became unbearable and I couldn't walk straight without stumbling. Not to mention, I was freezing. I was barely halfway in the room when I lost my balance.
Instead of hitting the floor, I felt a strong warm embrace.
My vision blurred but I was still able to see who had caught me.
"Zalgo?" I whispered. "You're back."
Zalgo carried me to the bed before he laid next to me. He placed my body on top of his as he gave me his body heat.
"You're alright now, my dove." He gently caressed my face as I closed my eyes.
"Why does the underworld get so cold?" I whispered.
Zalgo caressed my arm as he looked down at me. "I guess I'll tell you seeing as you won't be able to remember this." He chuckled. "I made the same mistake that Silas made. One of the ancient witches cursed the underworld and limited my power until I marry the remaining L/N descendant."
He smirked as he recalled what had happened earlier today.
Zalgo opened the door to an ancient temple, scanning the destroyed building for any source of life. The sunlight shined onto the moss-covered walls through holes in the ceiling. The pillars were cracked but strong enough to keep the ceiling in place.
Zalgo walked straight on the rocky floor, careful not to bump into any boulders on the ground. He made fire appear out of his palms, prepared for any sign of an attack.
"I've been expecting you," a raspy voice echoed throughout the room.
"Then let's get down to business, shall we?"
A bright orb appeared in the room in front of him. He turned around, covering his eyes as he silently cursed. Once the light disappeared, he turned back to the view in front of him.
An older woman stood up on a rock platform, staring at the demon with a blank expression. Her straight white hair had run up behind her back while she wore a flower crown. She wore a velvet dress that covered her body along with a black cape.
Zalgo slowly walked up to her, not taking his gaze off her. "How can I prevent my vision from happening?"
"Prophecies made from oracles cannot be avoided nor changed along with your visions."
Zalgo growled. "No, you don't understand! There has to be a way to change it! My visions don't make sense!"
The oracle raised her eyebrows. "Tell me, immortal, what were your visions?"
Zalgo clenched his jaw, knowing well the oracle already knew. " Y/N becomes mine, we die together, then she's back to her usual self where she's tortured by humans. It makes no sense! My spell cannot be reversed!"
"She's Silas' descendant," she reminded him. "It'll be a shame if the spell breaks. She becomes immune to your power and your power would no longer affect her."
"But she dies alongside me!" He snapped. "How can humans torture her if she dies!"
The oracle let out a small sigh. "I cannot reveal much, powerful one. All I can say is you're not a god to change fate. You cannot prevent your end, Zalgo."
"Then good thing I'm the most powerful immortal." He used his hand to summon a blue dagger, throwing it into the oracle's heart. She closed her eyes before shaking her head as her body turned into dust.
Zalgo glared at the ashes with anger. He had just killed the last existing oracle and felt no mercy. He was determined to prove her wrong.
He and Y/N will kill the pastas and live forever. Their offspring will help them collect souls and Y/N won't be hunted by humans. He would get his full power back and destroy other worlds. He would make sure of it.
Zalgo's right-hand man stood next to him as he gazed at the ashes. His hood covered his figure. "What did she say?"
He was silent for a few seconds before responding, "I'll be able to change fate." He smirked before he turned his head to look down at him. "I'm the most powerful immortal. I'll change our destinies.
Zalgo was snapped back to reality when a mumble was heard. Y/N had been dreaming.
"No one will hurt us from now on." He whispered as he ran his human fingers through her hair. "I'll make sure of it."
