CHAPTER 66

Camilo was sitting infront of Casita's biggest window. He's moved the blue-cushioned couch to face directly at the railing, taking it all for himself.

He was sipping on some hot choco that Mama made, along with some empanadas Tia Juli made.

Everyone was doing their own thing.

Luisa was probably sleeping in her room, Dolores had gone to spend the afternoon with Mariano, probably doing what he hoped they weren't doing.

Isabela was probably messing with her plants one way or another, the adults were either having tea or just spending time in their rooms, Toñito was probably in his rainforest of a room, and Mirabel was just on the other side of the wall crying and throwing tantrums because of her period cramps.

Camilo listened to whatever sounds were escaping out her window.

He smirked when Dante was bickering with Mirabel. The muffled sound of Mira's "uggggh!" and Dante's "Mira, I just wanna help!" made Camilo think that yeah, I should stay outta this one.

He watched the rain pour as he took a big gulp out of his fragrant hot choco. There were already a few kids playing in the rain, but a familiar screaming and laughing caught his attention..

A little boy turned the corner cackling and taunting someone chasing him. He was shortly followed by a girl dressed in dark brown. They were both barefoot and drenched head-to-toe.

The little boy kept swerving and slipping from his sister's grasp, while she yelled and grunted out her frustration in a language that only the two of them could understand.

The rain slightly obscured Camilo's view of their faces, but the Filipino yelling and that unmistakable golden butterfly clip told him that those two were his lovely best friend and her adorable little brother.

He couldn't help but grimace through his amusement as he watched Y/N comically slip on a puddle while her little brother laughed and pointed at her.

"WAHAHAHAA ATEEE, REYNA NG MAHINAAAAA", Camilo heard Butch's taunting even through the downpour.

Camilo didn't hear Y/N's reply to her brother but he watched as she got up and tied two knots in the front of her skirt to expose her shins.

So she could chase after this cheeky little kid.

"AAAAAAAAHHHH!"

Camilo watched Y/N chase her brother who was now screaming in fear.

"NO! MONSTER! ASWANG! GET AWAY FROM ME!"

Damn, she's terrifying!, Camilo couldn't help but think, taking a sip from his hot cocoa to keep the cold out.

"HULI KA!", He heard Y/N yell.

She cackled as she slung her brother over her shoulder ans slapped his bum once with his tiny slipper.

"HUWAG KANG PATAKBO TAKBO IKAWNG BATA KA! LINTIK NA TINATAKOT MO PA AKONG BAKA MADAPA KA- AKO TULOY YUNG NADAPA-", Y/N raved on and on, putting her brother down in an area that's got more shade.

It wasn't unusual for Camilo to find Y/N disciplining her brother. Usually though, Butch would be sporting a slouch, embarassed with being scolded in front of people. This time though, he was beaming and agreeing with everything his sister was saying enthusiastically.

"Dios mio, akala ko saan ka na pupunta, baka magkagalos ka- Huy" Y/N was cut off from scolding Butchokoy when he just plopped his cheek to her stomach as he engulfed her in a hug.
