I choose you

Already asleep and dreaming,
I cozied up next to him,
Held him close,
Led my hand up and down his spine.
My fingertips traced his features,
Dancing to the beating of his heart,
When his breath caught
And he cuddled closer to me.

The sigh of comfort and bliss
Responding to my every touch.
As my dance came to an end,
A shimmer in my eye
Seeing what i had written.
A simple message
From my heart to his:
"I choose you,
I will love you until the end of time."
