"HII PENCE-PENCE!" Ruby shouted as soon as she saw Pencil. "Erm. Hi-" Pencil groaned. "Pencil, we're, like, sorry. We're done, like, trying to catch them." Match apologized. "Oh- Well. I'm not accepting that apology." Pencil said. "Why, like, not?" Match asked. "Because I'm not the one you need to apologize to." Pencil answered. "Oh-" Match responded. "Well, bye. I'm gonna go find Book."

"Um, can I just ask what exactly we're doing?" Firey wondered. "Well, I guess we're not really doing anything specific." Leafy said. "Then why are we out so late?" Firey asked. "Because it's nice." Leafy answered. "How's it any different than at day?" Firey asked. "It's cooler, there's a nice breeze... I can just lay here with you..." Firey's face blushed like mad. "Y-Wh- skj- aognskngkj-" Firey stammered, unable to get any real words out. "What?-" Leafy asked. "N-Nothing!" Firey stuttered. "Um. Let me know when you're done having an aneurysm." Leafy said. "Wha-" Leafy sat up. "I'm dying, Firey." Leafy groaned. "What!?" Firey wa getting more and more confused and worried. "It's sarcasm, Firey." Leafy sighed. "Oh- Why do you say you're dying?" Firey asked. "Because of you." Leafy answered. "Oh- What did I do?" Firey worried. "You're-" Leafy thought for a minute. "Firey, you're dry." Leafy finished. "Is that a bad thing?" Firey asked. "Sometimes. In this case, not really. You're just very bad at picking up my sarcasm and humor. And you seem to have a lack of a sense of humor." Leafy answered. "Oh." Firey responded. "Probably something to do with being practically alone for almost three years..." Leafy mentioned. "But you were too..." Firey stated. "Well, my time alone wasn't as traumatizing as yours must've been. You were kept in a tiny cage, super high off the ground, when you're terrified of heights, and you got to listen to everyone having a grand ol' time... I was just doing whatever I wanted..." Firey didn't respond. Leafy looked over at him. He had tears running down his face. "Firey- I- I didn't mean to upset you- I-" Leafy stammered, worried. "Did I actually deserve that? Am I actually that terrible...?" Firey cried, putting his hands over his eyes. "NO! Nonononononononononononono NO NO NO NO! NEVER EVER IN A MILLION YEARS, FIREY! YOU NEVER DESERVED THAT!" Leafy gave him a hug. "I'm sorry, I wouldn't have brought it up if I knew it would upset you this much..." Leafy felt like crying herself. "I didn't think it would upset me... Just... I was put in a cage for being a bad person, so clearly, I did something awful to deserve that..." Firey cried. "All you did was save me! And if you think you're a terrible person for that, then-... ... ..." Leafy felt herself tearing up. "Then you shouldn't be here with me..." They both went quiet. "I- I want to be here with you, though..." Firey said quietly. "Really?" Leafy asked."Really..." Firey hugged Leafy back.

"Firey, I think we actually have a lot in common..." Leafy pulled away from the hug. "Like what?" Firey asked. "We're both loners, we're both naive, we're both oblivious, and we both..." Leafy laid on her back. "We both still have a lot to learn about the world... Unlike everyone else... Because we're different..." Firey heard how sad she sounded, so he tried cheering her up a bit. "Well, is being different so bad? If we were just like everyone else, we... Well, we'd share one collective braincell." Leafy chuckled. "We'd be... We'd be stubborn... We'd be....... Hmm... We'd be-" Firey thought. "Heartless jerks that don't know how to forgive." Leafy interrupted. "I- Um..." Firey started. "What? Is it wrong?" Leafy asked. "No... I was just trying to make you feel better about being different..." Firey answered. "Oh. Well I guess I ruined that."
