I covered my mouth with my palm as I cried out of frustration.

I felt like my world fell apart. I couldn't escape from this living nightmare. I had no other choice but to give in. I couldn't live in this reality. If I wanted to avoid this from happening, I had to give up on my goal.

I slowly got up and wiped my tears away. If I was going to give in, I wouldn't do it while breaking down. I wouldn't want to fuel his ego further.

(...)

I numbly walked towards the pillars. By the time I was in front of them, I stopped to glance around the forest. I didn't know what kind of future awaited me, but all I knew was I was going to be miserable. I didn't even know if I was going to be able to see this forest again.

"I'm so sorry Zen," I whispered. He would probably be waiting for me, completely oblivious of what would happen. There was no way I could alert him to get rid of the letter in my room. I just hope he somehow knows what happens and leaves this city for his own sake.

I took one more glance at the forest before walking in the middle of the pillars and getting greeted with hell.

I took a deep breath as I started walking on the familiar pathway. This time, however, no guards were guarding the front entrance nor the doors to the throne room.

I stood in front of the throne room doors for a few seconds as I asked myself if I truly wanted this. I could just live independently in this world or possibly risk the chance of killing him once everything goes back to normal. The only issue was that I had no possession of a weapon. It was impossible to kill him so I had no other choice but to give in. I swallowed the lump in my throat before opening the golden doors to his throne room,

As I walked the red carpet, I avoided Zalgo's gaze. I didn't want to see his face or else I would let myself break down.

Once I was a few feet away from the stairs that led to his throne, I sighed in defeat.

"Bring them back," I muttered, looking at the stairway.

"I said on your knees, little one."

I clenched my jaw before shamefully getting on my knees.

"Bring them back," I muttered again.

"Louder."

I stayed silent for a few seconds before I raised my voice, not wanting to repeat myself. "Bring them back."

"Look at me when you say it."

I bit my cheek in anger before looking at his smug figure. He wanted to humiliate me.

"Bring them back," I gritted out.

He leaned in before smirking.

"Now beg for it."

I hitched my breath before closing my eyes to control my anger. I had to remind myself this was the price to pay for their survival. I had no other choice.

"Bring them back." I opened my eyes to blink my tears away before looking at him. "Please."

Zalgo chuckled before leaning back on this throne.

"Darling, I hope your field trip to the future was fun," he signaled me to stand next to him. "I do have to warn you, my dear. If you try to kill me in the next few minutes, the future will remain the same. My army has strict orders in killing your pathetic friends if anything were to happen to me. Keep in mind they need healing so I doubt they're able to defend themselves."

I glanced away from him after I stood by his side. "Not like I have a weapon on me," I mumbled.

Zalgo grinned before he placed his hand on my cheek."You have no idea how happy I am to hear that you're finally mine."
