I crumpled the paper before running to the mansion. As I got deeper into the forest, fewer flyers were hung onto the trees.
"Please be alive," I muttered as I ran.
Zalgo claimed this was the future, but I didn't buy it. This wasn't a dream either because it felt way too real. I couldn't even kill him seeing as I didn't possess any weapon.
I stopped in my tracks at the sight of the mansion. The mansion was somewhat destroyed. Multiple holes allowed anyone from the outside to see the inside. The windows were all shattered with bloodstains. The paint had been fading too. I carefully stepped on the wooden stairs before opening the door.
I was hit by sunlight coming from the top seeing there was a huge hole in the ceiling. The staircase in front of me was destroyed along with some walls. It completely looked like a battle scene.
"Slenderman!" I yelled as I took a step forward. A few seconds passed before I finally felt a presence behind me. Before I could turn around, tendrils were squeezing my neck which caught my oxygen flow.
"S-Slender, it's m-me," I choked as I laid on my knees and tried to take his tendril away. I used one of my hands to unzip my jacket and took off the sleeve of my right arm before I showed him my proxy mark.
Slenderman stared at my proxy mark before letting go.
"It's you." He spoke out with a hint of shock.
"Sir, what the hell happened?" I asked, still sitting on the floor as I rubbed my sore neck. I took off my jacket seeing as I was sweating.
"You dare to come here five years later and ask what happened?"
"Five years?" I whispered, still not believing this was the future. "What the hell happened after I went inside the portal?"
He stared at me for a few seconds before responding, "Zalgo came back and said you didn't want us to live. I was only able to bring Eyeless Jack, Puppeteer, and Liu with me back into the mansion before he could kill us. By the time I teleported us to the mansion, Zalgo and his army came and killed my brothers and the remaining pastas."
"What about Sally!" I yelled in horror at what he had confessed.
"She died in my arms! My daughter died in my arms!" He broke down.
I covered my mouth with my hand as I shook my head. "I don't believe it. There's no way that happened!"
"Zalgo then cursed me. I can no longer die like an immortal. I will be here for eternity."
I felt a tear roll down my cheek, still covering my sobs.
"Zen arrived a few hours after the battle. I must confess that caught me off-guard. My first two proxies meeting behind my back."
"What happened to him?" I muttered.
Slenderman looked at the broken staircase before answering. "I brutally killed him as a way to let my anger out."
I followed his gaze to the staircase before softening my eyes. More than anything, I wanted to believe this wasn't real and that I could reverse time.
"It's funny really," he broke the silence. " Initially, I was planning on killing you all after Zalgo's battle, but I didn't expect to care for them after meeting them"
"But you never cared about me, didn't you?" I whispered as I avoided his gaze. "I was by your side longer than the pastas, but you always hated me without a reason."
"You were a replacement to Zen. You were never him." He reminded me.
I kept my gaze on the floor before nodding. "And I bet you still wouldn't care for me if I tell you I can reverse their deaths."
