Part 40: Too far gone

"If she's staying, so am I." Mack announced.

"Mack, she's too far gone."

"I'll get her back."

Warren sighed. "Be safe."

"Thanks."

Now it was 10k's turn to speak.

"Where's Y/n?" He asked.

"She's not here." "But, I think I have a pretty good idea of how we can find her."
"We just gotta contact citizen Z again."

*Y/n's pov*

I spotted a cave like structure, with blankets hanging over the entrance.

Tobias was busy with something. So, I decided to check it out.

I felt the side of the walls, quickly finding a light switch. The lights turned on, red.

I looked above me, weapons.
Knives, more specifically. All kinds of them.
Saws. Bodies. Covered in sheets.

"God I hope it's not a dog."

What I saw was worse than a dog.

A human.

One leg was missing, bone sticking out just past the knee. Then, I heard noises.

The body was alive. Holy shit.
I recognized that face.

Rat face.

I specifically remember 10k had shot him in the chest that day. I thought certainly he'd be dead.

And now, a leg gone.
A stitched shut mouth.
No hair on his head.

Then, I heard chains, rattling.
Behind a curtain.

I hadn't eaten in awhile, but still. I didn't know if my stomach could handle what was behind that curtain.

I might upchuck if I see anymore severed limbs.

But, I decided to look anyway.

I regretted my decision almost immediately.

People, severed limbs, blood bags, dripping IV's to keep them alive.

I quickly ran out. Not looking where I was going.
When I ran into someone I cried.

I cried for the first time in awhile. Thinking about what I had just seen.
Would they do that to me?

He just held me in his arms, it was Tobias.

"I'm sorry, I swear, I won't tell anyone. Just please, I need to find him, let me go." I cried.

"No need for all that doll. Supper's ready!"

Now with Mack and Addy gone, the only ones left were Warren, Murphy, zombie Cassandra, 10k, and doc.

As they drove back down the highway 10k had lots of time to himself. To think, about everything.
