Part 4: try me

I wake up and try to move but I soon realize, there is a strong arm holding me in place. Oh goodness it's 10k, I'm laying on him.

I try to move his arm without waking him but he's such a light sleeper he starts to stir and he opens his eyes.

"mind letting go?"

He looks into my eyes for a minute,
"yeah, right, sorry."

I remember last night, well most of it, I don't know how we ended up cuddling on the floor because I basically cried myself to sleep.

I stand up and put my gun in it's holster and my hunting knife in the back pocket attachment.

We woke up before everyone else so technically we didn't need to be up for another hour.

I walked out the door and shut it quietly, I was really hoping 10k wouldn't try to follow me or talk to me.

Luckily he didn't, I just needed to think, Alone.

I kept walking into the woods not really knowing what I was looking for.

I see a small shed so I did what any person would do.

I check it out.

I looked around for any people but I didn't see anyone, I turned to walk around the corner when I heard a noise that sounded like, digging?

It was a dog.

I wasn't sure if it was friendly, it looked to be an Australian Shepard, black and white.

I whistled,

when it looked at me and it actually looked a little frightened,

"Hey buddy, its okay, I'm friendly." I spoke softly to it.

The dog stared at me,

I took a water bottle out of my bag slowly and grabbed an empty tuna can off the ground and poured it in, I didn't have anything for a dog to eat so it's the best I could do at the moment.

"Here you go bud, it's okay, come here.." I tried to coax the dog. He started inching closer and closer until finally he got up to the can and lapped up the water,

I seen the dog up close, very clearly a boy, no collar.

"Good boy." I smiled and slowly reached my hand out to pat his head,

He was still scared but he let me.

Suddenly the dog looked up and ran the other way, before I could react I felt something cold press up against the back of my head.

A gun.

"Don't, move." A gruff voice said from behind me.

He grabbed the back on my jacket and spun me around.

He was an older man, pretty ugly I must admit,
I stared at him,
He looked me up and down in a creepy way, I don't show any signs of fear.

"You tryna steal from me?" He slightly raised his voice.

I looked into his eyes, "no, I didn't know anyone was living here."

He pulled me closer.

"what are ya doing out here in the middle of the woods?"

"Just trying to survive, same as you I suppose."

He still hasn't loosened his grip on me, I had no idea what he was gonna do,

"Yeah, you're right.." the man growls, then he pushed me to the ground, still not letting go of his grip on me,

"how about you give me what you got and maybe I'll let you live."

I glare back at him, "How about you get your ugly ass off me and I'll let you live to see tomorrow."

Almost immediately after I said that, he slaps me right across my face,

"hey asshole!" It was 10k,

The man turned around and pulled me up, he grabbed my knife from my back pocket and put it against my throat.

10k kept focus on the man,  "Listen here, you're gonna let her go or I'll shoot you where you stand." He says, the man just laughed.

"You think I won't kill her?" the man questions 10k.

"I don't think you can." I speak up,

"Shut up." He pushed my knife tighter to my neck, I didn't stop there,

"you don't wanna doubt his shooting skills, he's not lying." I continued, "so how about you let me go and we will all be on our merry way."

I can feel him breathing heavily, no doubt he was nervous,

I saw 10k starting to become uneasy, I knew he wanted to shoot him, I looked at 10k,

He had his eyes locked on the man,

In a swift move I elbowed the man in the gut, he scratched the side of my face with the knife when I did it,

The man fell over and dropped the knife,

He tried to grab it, 10k quickly moved over and pointed the gun at him,

"Don't." 10k warned.

I grabbed my hunting knife, 10k kept his weapon on the man, he looked at me for a moment,

"what do we do now? We can't let him go, he's dangerous."

I looked at him "shoot him."

He looked shocked. "We don't kill people."

"Then I will."

without hesitation I pulled out my pistol and shot the man in the face,

he was dead.

"Y/n wait!" 10k yelled to me,

"if it's a lecture, I don't need it."

10k comes up to me and touches my cheek, in the area the man scratched my face,

"you're bleeding."

"Well don't touch it, idiot." I slap his hand away, I turn around and walk into the house,

10k doesn't follow, he stays outside left with his own thoughts.
