Chapter 26- An Announcement

Tris P.O.V

I get home and my mom calls me into the living room. I go in and sit in a chair facing her.

"What do you need?" I ask.

"I have to tell you something. Once Caleb gets down here." She says.

As if on cue, Caleb walks down the stairs. He sits down in another chair. I look at my mom expectantly.

"We need to move again. This house and town has too many memories of your Father." She says. No, we can't move. Not now.

"We can't move!" I yell. My mom looks sadly at me.

"I have a house picked out in a nice town and nice neighborhood. You'll like it" She says. I shake my head no.

"Well, I think it's great. I didn't really like this town." Caleb says. I stare at him in shock.

"This is my favorite move! Except for in Cali when we were kids." I say.

"I guess you could stay here. But you would have to stay with a family." My mom says. I nod.

"Yeah I'll do that" I say. My mom stands up.

"I know a family you could probably stay with. I'll call them now" she says and walks into the kitchen. I look at Caleb and he's looking down.

"Beatrice, why won't you just come with? Dad is already gone somewhere we don't know. I don't want our family more split up." He says.

"I'm sorry Caleb, I just can't leave here" I say. He let's out an exaggerated breath and goes upstairs to pack. I go into my room and shove all my clothes and belongings in bags.

I drift to sleep thinking about what my new family might be like.
