the sea-beaten sands glisten golden under the afternoon sun;
like scattered jewels so generously left behind for us to grab.
earthly stars washed by an azure eternity,
like our labyrinthine spirits are by the cobalt heavens!
for we too are grains of sand on a celestial seashore,
looked upon fondly by some divine being --
--or perhaps perceived as a stubborn nuisance,
that I cannot guarantee;
and yet we still manage to prevail regardless,
like the sand under our sea-washed feet.
